    Xenarc 702 TSV Ribbon Cable

Hey guys, so once I got everything working with my Car PC (well, at least to the point it can replace my headunit it my car), I wanted to start working on a case for the system.

My plan, as I will have two DIN slots available, is to mount the LCD and all the components into a single case, and mount it directly in the double din area.

So I've opened up my Xenarc 702 TSV a few times now. The first time to see how everything was hooked up to get a rough idea, and then the second time was to measure everything.

And finally, this time my plan was to do a mock up of all the components in a cardboard case.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to remove the ribbon cable, so I can pull everything apart. Any advice would be great! I've gotten the five-wire touchscreen removed, and the power connectors for the backlight. All that's left to separate everything is the ribbon cable

Attached is a picture of the ribbon cable, you can see how it actually runs through a hole in the PCB to get to the LCD.

I've tried lifting the white plastic piece (if it's a push down type)...nope.
I've tried pushing it away from the black mounting point (clip in type)....nope.

Someone on the forums had this image, showing how to mount a cable, but I don't think it applies to this adapter:

I'm gonna keep doing more research, but if anyone has any advice, that would be great, thanks!

Hmmm, I played around with a it a little more, and it seemed the the black part was actually the piece that locks the FFC in place. Maybe it's a Zero-Insertion-Force type cable, but the locking/clamp mechanism snaps in the back. I'll try messing around with it a bit more when I get home tonight.

I have had no luck with this....but I'm trying to be careful as I don't want to snap the mount off the board.....does anyone have any suggestions?

I was hoping to setup my system with a nice OEM look, and I won't be able to do that if I can't undo the FCC

You just lift the black plastic piece up carefully to unlock. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any question.
