i have a couple of names for a install with that many parts, sadly most of them can't be typed and read properly though...

i am not so sure it will work on a touch screen-- i didn't see anything on their website about touch screens, or even advertising repairing scratches on touch screen devices, and that is what worries me...

I accidentally put a big scratch in a desktop LCD and used vaseline to fill the scratch. It worked quite well, you can only barely see it now. I'm not sure how it'll work with that, and even worse, if you're constantly touching it, it'll probably wipe off and you'll have to re-apply it often, but a ton cheaper than all your alternatives.

Otherwise, I agree. Put a carpc in it. The damage was a sign from above. It is your density.

    Cheers,

    Kris

My guess that it didnt tell him the right way to go so he abused the poor thing, lol.

I dont think any solution is going to work. You can fill in the gaps with the Vaseline, but the touchscreen still will not work in that area because the air pockets have been punctured. I would open it up, so we can see the touch panel, or simply replace the whole unit with a aftermarket system, which would blow your current setup away.

last i heard, the lancer nav takes a while to get a signal and start up, so to setup a carputer to do a cold boot might not be too different.

Well also if he goes the Car PC route, with Win 7, the system would be on instant with Hybrid Sleep.

I had a small chair that would not fit in my backseat so i put the front seat down and placed it there. On the way home I had to hit my brakes and it went forward and hit my touchscreen. Pretty much the dumbest thing i have ever done.
