Are there any good single din touch screens out there?
protias, what is your email? I may be buying one soon, but this people here won't recommend **** to you unless it costs alot.
2004 F150 STX Heritage:
ASUS E35M1-I Fusion AMD 1.6GHz DC ~$114
Patriot 32GB SSD ~$80
Kingston 4GB ~$25
1/2" MDF - ~$15
10" Samsung touch panel - ~270
M2 Power Supply $85
GPS Receiver ~ $36
Unfortunately, any unit that is a quality piece will be expensive. With electronics, the general rule is "you get what you pay for".
I have yet to see a single-DIN VGA touchscreen that is worth a damn. If you have a model that you think is quality, may I suggest sharing it with the rest of the community, rather than keep your good stuff for your self?
definitely, if there is a monitor that has good build quality, i am interested, just so i have something to recommend to others looking for a single din solution-- and there are plenty looking for one..
there are primarily 2 problems that i understand to plague all of the current vga touchscreen monitors-- they either use plastic gears for screen movement that wear out easily, or the video cable ribbon consistently breaks from the screen going up and down.
then there is also the general reflectiveness of the screens--there are not any sunlight viewable flip up screens that are available from anyone..
if anyone knows of any single din, or even better, 1/2 din, that overcome these obstacles, for cheap, i would buy one just for a second display..
