Matrox Millenium 4MB PCI, lcd controller?
Hey everyone, i have this old pci Matrox Millenium 4MB from my friends computer, and i know some of the matrox's have a onboard crappy lcd controller(dont care if it sucks) but i was wondering if this also has a onboard lcd controller, and what panels does it support? Thnx everyone.
btw heres how it looks, its exactly the same as this
I have one of these at the mo with the rainbow runner add-on running my PSone LCD
But Iím using the VGA output on it.
But Iíve never hard of an lcd controller on it
It looks like the card has Digital Video Interface (DVI) , but that is for modern lcd monitors and will not drive your average lcd from a laptop without a converter board (expensive). Some newer laptops use a simlar interface , but I have not seen one yet. One advantage is you get an all digital interface with one thin long cable.
This is my first post, please forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject , but I think I found something important.
Look at these two matrox flat panel add-on cards . The one for the Millenium G400 series uses a DVI-D connector (page5 on the link)
But the Add-on card for the Millenium G200 series cards uses either a P&D connector(30 pin) or a MDR-20(20 pin) connector (page4)
And the connector pinouts for the G200 Flat Panel Add-On card are on pages 13-14
Is it possible to use an LVDS compatible LCD screen with this card?
