    Lilliput touch with Ubuntu?

    Hi All,

I am looking to build a small embedded PC with a touchscreen in a custom chassis to run a CNC milling machine using EMC2, which is an open-source control system that runs on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

I am wondering if anyone has experience setting up the touchscreens on the 8" or 10.4" Lilliput models to run on Linux (the closer to Ubuntu 8.04, the better). I searched in the forum, but most of the Linux threads here seem to be years old.

I am open to looking at similar screens if there are others with better Linux support. I am however limited to that specific version of Ubuntu as that's what EMC2 is optimized to run on. There will be a 10.4 version in the future, in case that makes a big difference.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

There are several Linux success stories, but it requires still some tweaks in most cases.

    But positive news:
Displaylink added Open Source on their support/feedback forum.
    DisplayLink drivers Open Source
