So with 848x480 the screen is the exact fit for the 7 inch screen you can get from digitalww?

If so then seals the deal...now just gotta wait for the $$

I can't imagine it would be any different. I believe it's the exact same video card...

I am hoping that there is some way of doing this with the Eden 800. I have tried a few tricks that have worked with other cards in the past but they have all failed. By the looks of things the linux bods have replaced the video driver completely and now have widescreen capability so the hardware itself is capable.

Come on Via sort it out

    I have an Epia M 10000 and a digitalww TM701L.
It's a pity I cannot use that resolution with mediaengine.

    Why?

There are several schemes for media engine that are widescreen but I agree that these aren't 848x480. I presume that you don't want to design one yourself then?

BTW - I have had this link for adding widescreen to radeon chipset cards for quite a while

    http://www.dtvmax.com/radeon_guide.htm

and have just found out that the section labelled Unlocking Additional Display Resolutions by Windows Registry Modifications works on my Rage Mobility chipset in my laptop under W2k

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ati2mpab\Device0]
    "DALNonStandardModesBCD"=hex:12,80,07,20,00,00,00, 60,08,48,04,80,00,00,00,60,\
    14,00,10,50,00,00,00,00,12,80,06,00,00,00,00,00,10 ,24,05,12,00,00,00,00,08,\
    00,05,12,00,00,00,00,10,24,06,00,00,00

Now have a laptop that can output
    720x480, 848x480,1280x720,1400x1050,1280x600,1024x512,800x5 12 & 1024x600.

If this all works in the car then I may well just get a v.cheap pci card and forget about trying to get the Eden800 chipset to work.

The reason I'd never tried it before now is that PowerStrip 3.3 says that advance timings are not supported (greyed out) and hence it didn't occur to me that windows hacks might still work.

on your EPIA do you guys set overscan or underscan in the BIOS?

And with my EPIA when I try to stretch the screen to fit the widescreen, the the right and left sides of the desktop gets cut off, so Media engine doesn't look right. And when you dont stretch it there is a almost 1/2'' space arround all sides of the picture.

The widescreen resolutions won't work in media engine, so what do I do!! I was able to get the image PERFECT right up to the edge with my geforce4, but it wont work with this EPIA tv-out.. any tips/?
