Thread: Capacitive touchscreens?

Try searching. I just spent 2 minutes searching for this and found your answer. Maybe someone else will spoon feed you, but with the ease that I found it, I'm pretty sure you didn't even try.

Does anyone make a pre-assembled capacitive 7" touch screen?

I just tried searching and all I could find were touch kits for normal LCD's, definitely don't want to be screwing about with adding touch to a non touch screen or replacing resistive with capacitive.

AFAIsee, I only see 2 threads which have information:
NEC 8.4" Transflective Solution - Custom Kit (first post didnt even say if it was capactive)
Synaptics announces new range of multitouch capcitives... (Ill ask in that one as he said he had one but didnt say which one)

So maybe the one that needs to look around is you....The question has been asked last on 02-28-2010 so..........I dont know...........maybe things have been updated.

I was searching for this very answer and all I could find were threads flaming people for asking instead of answering the question. From what I can tell there aren't any factory options, but you can pick up a EBY701 that someone pre-installed a 3m capacitive touchscreen in on ebay. It's surface not projected so no multitouch.

About the only preassembled option i can find....

This is the thread I've been keeping track of, they seem pretty keen to find an answer but there still isn't much out there.

For some reason I really doubt this. I'm pretty sure my search skills are right on. You are the one that needs to look around, not I.

Apparently I search a lot better than you do. If it's not what you are looking for, perhaps you should get better at asking questions.

@Sicarius123, I don't think there are any ready-out-of-the-box solutions currently on the market, kind of a bummer. There are a few outfits out there that are modding with capacitive and reselling, I'll search around again and post some links.

Ah, so that's you. I see that you apparently sold the 10.4 with capacitive I was thinking about. I was about to ask you about the backlight upgrade info you did to that screen. Are you going to make more of them or was it a one-off?

Any news on multi touch capacitive?
