I need to replace the touchscreen in my 7" transflective lilliput but I'm not sure when it was made, and they only show one replacement panel, for the April 08 up models.
How can I tell if it's the right one?
So Steve, how fast is your car?
Oh, about 1800mhz.

I was thinking a serial number, or a part number on the board or something. What do you want a picture of? the touchscreen portion itself?

Oh, about 1800mhz.
A pic of the connector for the touch screen is all that is necessary to determine which panel you need.
Unless you have a Bonded, transflective LCD.
I think i am in the same boat as you are. Where are you even finding replacements? Is it from the MP3car store?
When i went to the online store i thought i only saw regular touch panels for the 7" lilliput. We need one that has been opticaly bonded with the antiglare features

I didn't realize that the transflective coating was bonded to the touchscreen. Bleh. That makes replacing the screen a moot point.
However, I managed to repair the ribbon cable and use a modified version of the method described in the sticky to repair the touchscreen element (used a heat gun instead of a lighter) and all seems well now.
It's kinda lame that this screen while old, has never been used and the touchscreen was coming off the glass. Oh well, hopefully it stays on now.
So Steve, how fast is your car?

I emailed the mp3car store they said they would replace the touchspannel on our transflectives for about $330. I think i would try the heat method first. Glad it worked for you.

I tried the heatgun trick and got it really hot on both sides and pressed firmly just like in the video but as soon as a hot day came around my touch panel stopped respoding until i had the AC on long enough to cool things back down. Did you also do the top and bottom of the touch panel? Any tips would be helpful. I can't imagine buying a new screen because of a stupid touch panel.
BTW if you do need to replace it at some point in time you can tell by the connector wether it is the right one. the smaller connector is for after 2008 the large connector is before
