I am trying to connect an Hydis (LCD screen) HT101HD1-100 directly to NC9C-550-LF mini-itx motherboard.
I am going to use a salvaged LVDS cable out of donor laptop so it is designed for that panel. I intend to cutoff the motherboard connector and splice into the Jetway motherboard. The Jetway mobo has a built in LVDS transmitter 18 bit single channel. The panel also is 18 bit single channel.
The biggest obstacle aside from making the custom LVDS cable and getting the correct pin-outs, is how to control the brightness. I want to control the brightness with a potentiometer knob on my dash. There is a 555 timing circuit I saw from Afro-tech that might work, but I can't figure out the HT101HD1-100 data-sheet in regards to pin 35; S_PWMIN “system pwm signal input (+3.3V swing)”.
There is an integral LED driver board for the LED back-light. I don't know if the integral driving board has a PWM generator on it or if it expects an external PWM signal from the donor motherboard which I don't have. What does 3.3 volt swing mean?
I don't know what for sure what pin35 is expecting to see...that is the problem.
