Would there be any disadvantages to using HD field monitors such as the SmallHD DP1X?

Or AV Test monitors such as the Atlona's?
Atlona DIS7 HD - seems to be a perfect size

I'd be pairing the screen up with a Panjit capacitive sunlight readable glass touch screen.

I also found out that 720p is just below the resolution for the full windows 8 experience which is frustrating.
Needs 1366x768
Back on my hunt.
Still haven't found anything new, found the price of the SmallHD DP1x second hand have gone up, not down.
The resolutions of these monitors will run Windows 8 metro, however they will not be able to run two applications at a time with one pinned to the side.
Good luck. if you ever find something please post back![]()
Can anyone comment on using a test monitor like the Atlona long term? Given it is meant for short tests of cables and peripherals.
Bad news.
I just received an email saying that the controller board is incompatible with the connector type on the Toshiba. The smallest screen that they could find in this resolution that their board supports is 10.2", which is far too big for my dashboard and seems harder to find capacitive overlays for.
Back to the drawing board, although I'm starting to feel like this whole project will be canned until Windows on Arm tablets appear later this year. Hoping for a small one!
Getting so tired of my factory headunit, but nothing suitable available to replace it![]()
Apple disagrees. They put a better-than-hd screen on their 10" tablet.
