No problem. I'm Canuck, and pay shipping anyway. But yes, ordering a couple would lessen the blow

And Native win7 support for multi touch, won't allow multiple touch...hummm.
Can I ask, how do you use multi-touch in a car environment? Especially if this is on your tablet units. I would think you would spend more time trying to use multiple fingers and pinching, when one simply button push from a button will save time and energy. Now on my EVO, I see the benefit of it, but normally when using it thats what I am 100% focused on is using the phone and its features.

I know for a fact, that TouchKit supports 6 displays on my multi-zone rig. Unfortunately I am using XP on that specific system because I hear Win 7 is iffy with multiple touch screens.

^ there was some discussion on in-car multitouch before. i think that it does have some benefit-- you could almost double the amount of gestures that you could do-- all without looking at the screen.

Yeah, what soundman98 said. There are lots of possibilities with multi touch. Now I don't know what is the big deal with pinching to zoom. How more intuitive could zooming be? It's much more intuitive than try to find an overlayed (+) button somewhere under bright sunlight...Not to mention I bet newer GPS interation will bring that very soon. The same for two and three finger gestures.

I have never used gestures, so maybe thats why it didn't even occur to me. I think I'll stick with the regular screens though. I mean I have so many other input methods on my install.

Win 7 iffy with multiple multi-touch or just multiple touchscreens period? I'm running Win7 Ultimate in the car. I am using Touchkit too.

Well, I received my V70-XB today. Seems pretty good, until I put it into the car

First, it is NOT as bright as expected. In fact I would say it is less bright than the VM-70 with ccfl back light.

The entire screen has shadow. Each icon, letter, graphic. Now, first thought I and the rest of the world would think is noise. The unit is hooked up to the M2. I tried the car 12V power, and tomorrow I will try a stand-alone battery, but I hold little hope because nothing on the screen moves, jitters, twinkles as almost any noise problem would do. These shadows are steadfast.

I am quite disappointed and after I try a dedicated 12V supply tomorrow, I will email support at short-circuit and a) ask if they have any ideas, then b) complain. It is possible it was just defective, but I doubt I can send it back. It's been mounted and the bezel will not look new. And shipping charges back and forth will add up and basically nullify the whole idea of getting a reasonably priced screen.

    YMMV.

your noise is probably on the VGA line, not the power line. It could be the analog signal in the VGA being affected by the power. Could just be a low grade VGA cable. Ghosting is the primary reason i went HDMI and never looked back

    What Sonic said!

So maybe this screen is more sensative then the VM70. Maybe it just needs a new VGA cable (maybe gold plated?) or it needs a noise filter like what comes with the Lilliput screens.

Also have you up'ed the brightness to see if that helps readability? So I should just stick with the VM70 and tint all my windows to mobster shade?
