I quickly scanned through this. But in a response to this question, I would think most people are running a CarPC
software that is more finger friends when actually driving. Not being able to reach the corners when running the bare OS shouldn't be a problem if people are using portable keyboard/mouse combo. Cause let's face it, if you are using the bare OS in your car, you are probably developing something for it to work better and you are going to want a keyboard/mouse. A stylus should be used in this design by default.
I think a flush design would have been better, but I'm sure that was answered somewhere in this monstrous thread.
