I also like Hdale85's suggestion of an IR remote. These come bundled with a lot of small LCD screens, and could be used for the LCD adjustment type tasks that you rarely need to perform. Skip it if it's going to significantly increase cost though.

We will try our best to put a remote with this monitor, if the space is not a problem

You won't be able to please everyone, I think you've figured that out by now.. Have you considered moving some inputs to the rear of the unit? A multi-purpose rotating knob would be more useful to me than front facing USB/SD/AUX inputs. These could all be moved to the back and let the user run cable wherever they want.

With a knob with click push, you can control a lot of things. Besides the usual volume up/down/mute, you could click hold to bring up a new set of menu options - Equalizer, Input settings, LCD control for example. Then use the knob as left/right or up/down and click select. Brings up your eq/lcd settings and so on, you get the idea. It's very intuitive vs trying to cram several single use buttons where they normally wouldn't make sense. This is the way BMW & Lexus (and prob others) are going - more features, less buttons.

This monitor is also trying to fit as much car as possible, and a knob can not in this layout because of the space...sorry

We are adding the remote, should not be a problem. The right side still keep 2 hardware control buttons for the monitor.

One for power switch, with channel switch by holding 2 sec, it will switch to another channel by loop.

another one for back-light control.

just hope that the 3.5 jack is some kind of aux input as putting a mic input in there seems just weird for me.

also, will the lcd that comes with this case be the one that displays no OSD when changing inputs?

Yes, it is a Aux Input, not a mic input

The power button also work as "channel switch" hot key. When you hold it for 2 sec, it will switch to another channel by loop.

Also, here is the button logo, any thought? after confirm this. we will submit for molding this weekend
