"Transflective" LCD panel with res touch+controler for $101+$36 S+H

Has anyone figured out the resolution problem? Is it supporting 800x480 as they claimed, or 800x640?

So far I've been able to get it to display 800x600 or 640x480, so from that I can see it at least has the right amount of pixels in each direction. When I force 800x480 it seems to try and stretch horizontally so one end gets cut off, and the pixels dont line up perfectly :/

Happens both on the mac and pc, but I'm hoping its not the controller...

So is it possible that the specs are wrong that the native resolution is actually the standard 800x600 and not 800x480?

No, the specs are not wrong. The LCD panel has a native resolution of 800x480. The controller is a cheap generic that can be programmed to work with many LCD panels.
It simply scales the resolution to fit the panel. Much like Lilliput monitors do.

So, can anyone get any 15:9 resolution to work? And are we sure there is not something in the OSD that is messing with the Res?

I am now starting to lean towards this screen, but I want to get native res working on it. Maybe it would be a matter of getting the LCD only, and getting a separate controller for it that works with 800x480 if this controller doesn't support it.

EDIT: Looking at the pics on the ebay ad, it shows a shot with 800x480 selected, but if you look at the image, it is doing what stuv was saying. So, I think a new controller is the way to go, or just dealing with stretched pixels at 800x600.

I can order a different controller from one of my suppliers, and he assures me that reverse cam will work. I asked about 800x480 but I did not get a response yet.
If it does support native, I will consider ordering them. FYI I have to buy a moq of 10.

That's the same reply he gave me. That means set your monitor res. to 800x480 in the Resolution Settings. I think that he is saying that as long as you have a video card/onboard GFX that has support for 800x480 the display will work with that res.
