If it does support native, I will consider ordering them. FYI I have to buy a moq of 10.
I'd be interested if this is what we have to do to get native resolution. Also, having the back-up camera auto switch would be a huge plus.

Yeah I tried Powerstrip, but couldnt get the new resolution to come up after restart. Did my test through the nvidia drivers. It wouldnt stick, but stayed up long enough to test.

If the ebay guy says it woirks, maybe its just a matter of getting the right advanced timings which I havent screwed around with yet. Btw 60hz gave me a jumpy image, but 58hz seemed to give a stable image for anyone trying.

I'm interested in one with the capacitive TS. Not sure yet if I want to rip out my Xenarc and head unit but seriously thinking about it.

I run 800x600 on my Xenarc today and it looks fine to me, so I'm not really concerned about 800x480. But if it supported it then fine.

For the money you spent on the Xenarc, you might as well run PS and get that sucker to display the native resolution and correct aspect ratio. I'll never forget this time a few years back. I went to a friend's house, he had just bought a new 42" Samsung and fired up his 360 to show off his new TV. This guy was clueless to the fact that it was displaying a stretched out 4x3/480p image. I then grabbed a controller, went into the 360's system settings while he got all nervous and instructed me to "stop ******* around with ****". I just ignored him and changed the resolution to 1080, changed his tone real fast.

You can't compare the picture on a 7" display vs. a 42" display, but in general I agree with you. I can't stand running an LCD screen at a non-native resolution, except on the Xenarc. The reasons are that at 800x480 you are giving up about 25% the pixels (or screen real estate) by running the lower resolution, but also at least for me the 800x600 looks fine, i.e. not fuzzy, blurry, etc. If it did I would definitely change it, but normally it's just showing iNav so it looks fine.

Native res is ideal, or at least resolutions with the same aspect ratio as the physical aspect ratio. Why? I want my circles looking like circles and not ovals. Plain and simple.
It's not a matter of 480p vs 1080p on an xbox, that's just someone being dumb about resolutions. What we are trying to do is get the CORRECT ratio working on these screens.

    Cool Thanks for everybody`s support!

We are the seller on eBay. One of our client sent us this link

Lot of people concern about how to get the 800*480 native resolution. here is the deal:

    1. install newest video card driver to your operating system. If you still can`t solve it, go step 2.
    2. install PowerStrip (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm), you can set up the 800*480 resolution.

If you have any further questions or concern about this monitor. Please feel free to email us at [email protected]. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for the response, and welcome to the forum.

The major concern I have is in this picture on the Ebay thread:

It shows 800 x 480 selected, but it stretches the screen horizontally past the viewable area, and shrinks the screen vertically, leaving a black bar at the top and bottom.

So, I think you will be able to sell a whole lot of these if you can show a screen in 800x480 that DOES NOT stretch like it does in the above pictures.

This is a good question since we never pay attention to the black bar :)

Looks like it may be intended to leave black area by the manufacture, because small panel needs some space in one of four sides to save the circuit. The proportion of the image is correct, there was no stretches or shrinks. It is dot to dot. Anyway, I will double check with my colleague about this issue. If I get update, will post here ASAP
