We've all seen the Dual View (or Split View) LCD screens in vehicles like the Range Rover where the driver and passenger see two different images. I think the panels are made by Sharp. So, 8838, what do you think?
We can use two kits as two monitor, then use your computer`s dual output. Is that works for you?

If I plug in a video source the screen stays on but only very bright white. I have checked all the ribbons on the lcd and I dont see any visual tears. The largest ribbon in the middle is what shows passes the actual video correct? Is there somewhere on the board I should look for damage? Is there something else I should do?

The LCD frame is metal, so it should not touch the board

Try to use a tape to cover the cable, you should be fine.

Actually I am generally pleased with the screen.(not the short vga cable though!)
I can read 14 point type on the screen in sunlight. Not easy though but as it should be.
WoW, you have good eyes. You can do that from the driver position?

By the way, I still suggesting you put on a little shade. That will helps a lot.

Keep in touch and have a wonderful day!

@8838 : Drivers alone wont help becouse there are too many people that dont know how to use linux and install drivers. And there are questions about touchscreens on Raspberry Pi forums everyday, because everybody wants to use raspberry pi for carpc, but they dont know what touchscreen to buy. As none have support for raspberry pi,and that makes a lot of users dissapointed.
So it would be great if your tech guys could make drivers for raspberry pi and write a tutorial for it,it will help a lot of people and sell many screen sets and new 2din sets for you. Think about it, as yoir screens will be the first to support raspberry pi.

I believe it is one panel with a parallax barrier splitting up the two images.

I know Sharp makes the panel, but I don't know how to get them.
