"Transflective" LCD panel with res touch+controler for $101+$36 S+H

Hey,
has anyone tried to fit one of the small form factors controller board and LCD in to a lilliput case?
It seems to have been done by a few of the members of this forum but from what I gathered, TFT claimed that you'd need to longer ribbon cable, but as far as I was aware, that was the initial release of this screen.

The main reason i'm asking this is i'm trying to fit a 7" inside an E36. I'm getting a brezel made up by SRCSTC from mybimmer, and from what I can tell, the installation would require a 619,629,669,701 housing.

Few points of note maybe for future board rev.

Though the board does 2ch audio out, pins are there for L+/- R+/- only L is connected. I will be soldering on a 4 pin connector.
However, the yellow RCA is also audio out but its mono. I believe in future rev, if the yellow RCA was replaced with 3.5mm stereo jack it would be perfect. As lots of us doing car audio, would use the aux in directly, without any hassle.

i know this was from a while ago, but did anyone end up doing something like this? i was trying to get audio out of the yellow RCA cable, but had a terrible ground loop issue (even with a ground loop isolator).

We should hear some news from the factory by tomorrow, regarding to the 2-DIN case. If I get anything. Will update here :)

In my setup, I fit the lcd, board, vga connection, usb cable, vga cable (the one end), all in the casing. It is not a liliput case but i bet they are the same size.

I presume you have the vga only board? Is it the blue or small green board? Did you have any troubles with the length of the LCD ribbon? or the occasional connection between ribbon/pcb or pcb/lcd case?

I've decided to purchase one of the HDMI screen kits to accompany either an ASRock AD-2700 (Atom 2700 // $95) or e350M1/ USB 3 (amd e-350 // $145) or Zotac Fusion Wifi (amd e-350 // $200)...any thoughts there?:P

I'm still wondering, if it is possible to get an alternative firmware to get the source rolled from one to another pressing just one button, like almost every other panel.
