so i have finally bit the bullet and purchased one of these screens - thanks Derek!

one thing i am curious about, and you guys might be able to help me out... is how does the AUX in on the front connect to the back? i have ordered the HDMI version with button board. is someone able to take a few closeup photos of the back of it? if i need to use the line out from the screen, then i will need a usb soundcard at the front of the car. otherwise if it is integrated into the USB connector i wont? could someone please clarify what is connected via usb to the pc?

    thankyou!!

I have the HDMI version, and it eats 4 USB ports. 1 for the buttons, 1 for the touch screen, 1 for the front panel USB port, and 1 for the SD card slot.

Thanks for your help rray! much appreciated.

do you know how the AUX input on the front works? does it go through the USB and require drivers, or does it go to an audio connector on the back of the controller PCB? i want to be running the minimum amount of cables to the back as i can, so im searching for a usb soundcard that has LINE IN and MIC IN just in case it is audio out not usb.

Thing is he can't give support on the product because he don't even have the product.
What he sells come directly from China, he actually never see what he's selling, and don't even keep a single model with him.
Otherwise he could have answered my simple question in a couple of minutes.
Basically he just forward you request to some guy in China who never replies you.
Way to go Derrick, way to go.
I just read your question and really don't even know what you're asking. Can't answer a question when I don't understand it. I happen to have bought 3 screens from him(don't know if he counted it) and never had any issues with it on any of my systems whether hdmi or vga. (I bought 3 because 1 fried board in a bad experiment, bought another, and then finally wanted the redesigned board and box/unit they developed)

So HDMI? Yes I use it. Powerstrip? what do you mean? as in 12v powerstrip? 120v power strip? what? why do you need it? It seems more like you're having problems with getting your computer to recognize the screen but yet that doesn't seem to be your question? If you can get another computer or hdmi output device to work on this screen, the problem is likely that your computer's hdmi/video card doesn't support this screen. I don't know how many people sell parts for these do-it-yourself projects or buy parts expecting unlimited support or answers to everything. Just gotta deal with it and make the most of what you have.

So what are you looking for? HDMI specs? VGA? have you tried windows 8?

I did not connect mine but it looks like a feed-through that you would connect to the motherboards front panel audio header for mic or line input.

So I had a little accident. The power wires to the power cord disconnected from the power plug. They were very poorly soldered. However, I cannot tell where the red ones go and where the yellow. Looking at yours, can you tell me if yellow or red connects at the front of the plug as shown in this picture?

It looks like the red wire goes to the connector with rivet. But don't quote me on that, I'm just assuming. SNO

    Hum okay

There are actually two red and two yellow. Can I strip the ends, twist both red together and both yellow and then solder to the correct post?
