Cool, thanks - It's been so long that I've looked around for that wire, sort of forgot I had it. I'm guessing "backup camera trigger" also takes a 12v signal that auto switches to the AV1 or AV2 input?

The "backup camera trigger" wire, next to the illumination wire, needs to be wired up to the reverse wire on your car, not to 12V. Usually this is a wire found in large bundle behind the kick panel near the passenger door. With this connected, it should automatically switch to the AV input when you are in reverse. I'm not sure how you can wire it up to be enabled/disabled by choice.

I've been using the panel in my car for ~ 3 months now and it's fantastic for the price. We're now in a very cold Melbourne/Australia winter and it functions well at zero degrees, touch screen works well and the panel quality is much better than OEM units that come standard in many cars. Most people I've shown off my carputer too have been surprised for such a low-resolution display how bright and clear it looks. I'm not able to run at 800 x 480 resolution either (some other 1xxx by xxx widescreen resolution), taking this into account as well. I'd say the failure point of the unit would be the very fragile ribbon connectors. Make sure you tape the cables down to avoid vibration/damage during use. If they are loose consider putting a small box over the controller board + cables to protect it.

(I bought 3 because 1 fried board in a bad experiment, bought another, and then finally wanted the redesigned board and box/unit they developed)

So HDMI? Yes I use it. Powerstrip? what do you mean? as in 12v powerstrip? 120v power strip? what? why do you need it? It seems more like you're having problems with getting your computer to recognize the screen but yet that doesn't seem to be your question? If you can get another computer or hdmi output device to work on this screen, the problem is likely that your computer's hdmi/video card doesn't support this screen. I don't know how many people sell parts for these do-it-yourself projects or buy parts expecting unlimited support or answers to everything. Just gotta deal with it and make the most of what you have.

So what are you looking for? HDMI specs? VGA? have you tried windows 8?
Windraver, did you got my PM?

I've had my screen in my car since November. It has performed perfectly for me. Heat and cold really hasn't seemed to be an issue for it. If it was capacitive multi touch it would be absolutely perfect. ;-)

If you want to use AUDIO out put, you should connect the 4pin socket by "1-2" to left channel and "3-4" to right channel. If you only connect one speaker like "3-4", it will burn the AMP IC. but it will be a easy fix, we can send chips for you.

Any other questions, please send us email so it will be much faster. keep in touch
Good thread and in the plan of assembling/buying one. But while reading through, got a bit confused on this comment from Derrick. I've never heard where an Audio amp burns out with one channel not connected and other connected. instead of using the output as it is, I was thinking of routing it through a high impedance eq/amp. This might be similar to not connecting. After reading the comment it makes me think about this setup.

What kind of Audio amplifier does this board use? The comment sounds wierd. Any comments?? or thoughts from anyone?

why wouldnt you consider using the hdmi decoder audio output directly to your eq/amp instead of amplifier output? you would get less noise for sure.

I dont want to use another external decoder from HDMI when one is built into this card. Also when I see the card I have an audio in and amplified audio out. There is no output from pre-amp level unless I'm mistaken. Does it?

there is none I suppose, you are right. but you can just check the data sheet of the amplifier IC on the card and see which pins are for input for the channels. those are supposed to be the pre-amp level output from the HDMI decoder.

I received the 7" touch yesterday, from Derrick shop

I connected all wires and I used two inputs: an hdmi Android mini-PC and an AV handycam. Both, tested in my TV.

I tested in touchscreen both signals with video input channel button
But, I only see "No signal" message in screen :-/

I notice that, when I turn the screen on, a green LED shines for few seconds, and then, it changes to a red blinking LED. Error?
I reviewed connections several times, but I don't see nothing wrong. I don't know what to try more.

    Any help? :-/
