I have actually hooked a mouse to my SG III before as a test as well as a keyboard. Haven't gotten the MHL port working with it though. There are Samsung branded docks that will allow me to have an HDMI and USB ports so I do know they are out there.

Thank you for your info. Readheaddroid, i don't thing it is possible to connect both usb touch-interface and the mhl output.

If the hdmi output works ok, then it is good for me. My concern then is, because the phone's output resolution is highter than the native resolution of 800x480, how good or bad will that look.

One more strange thing i noticed. Please if someone could give me some info

Both my TV and computer monitor are full HD (1920x1080).

When i connect my phone to the computer monitor, it ouputs at: 1280x720 60hz (which is the phones native resolution)
When i connect my phone to the TV set, it ouputs at: 1920x1080 30hz (that's what my tv OSD says)

I believe the true output resolution is the first one which is phones native resolution. Is that right?
If so, can this topic's screen play with that resolution? In the ebay description it says 800x480 native and it supports 1080p. What about any in between resolutions?

This screen will support all kinds of in between resolutions. It's just that the fonts get so small you cannot see them. Also, at 1280 x 720, the aspect ratio is not perfect, it's like circles get turned into ovals.

I have an earlier driver board and it is kind of picky with its resolutions. I'm running Windows 8.1 so anything that isn't 768 height wont' work with the Modern UI. My board won't display 1280x768 or 1280x800 so I'm running at 1440x900.

Does anyone have any pictures of Windows 8 running on these screens? Like the start screen, Xbox music and internet explorer.

Probably not many photos of the screens you want out there. I had grief because the graphics driver, Intel HD3650, was not too friendly under Windows 8 as well as the minimum resolution required by Win 8 made fonts too small to read, although they were clear, just too small. I hated the stupid Metro interface, so never used it. I cant take new photos as that system was pulled, and is in my junk box now.

I have a picture of Firefox running on windows 8 on this screen:

Here is Drivelines HD Radio screen running on windows 8 on this screen:

Here is a BIOS Screenshot on this screen:

And here is the screen in my car on a cloudy day with Drivelines Phidget screen under Windows 8:

    A) Connecting the "Audio In" connector fried one of the ICs on the display board (CS6---, located between the "Audio IN" and "To Speaker" connectors on the ebay image). Luckily the rest of the display functions and disabling HDMI audio appears to stop usage of the dead IC. There's no instructions as to how to connect the audio header. Confusingly, the Audio header cable has a USB header 8pin block, not the FPAUDIO 8pin block (the blank is in a different spot). Under the assumption it operated as a USB device, I plugged it into a header and it cooked. Strangely, the screen powered up as well without 12V supplied! Only 5V from the USB header was supplied, so I can only assume the 5V was flowing from the motherboard header and reaching the screen (via the audio connector? wtf?)
I'm currently debating whether to order a new board. But even then, what's to say connecting the audio header wouldn't kill it again? I'm feeling lucky enough it didn't kill my ITX motherboard. Has anyone actually connected this and got it functioning? Pics would be nice.

    B) The left-side button board requires at least 3 screws. The center of the PCB flexes, such that the buttons in the middle are UNUSABLE and the force required on the buttons is overcome by the PCB flexing. I'm currently trying to find a way around this.

    C) The touch software works fine in Windows 8. But I can't swipe from the edges. I may need to tweak the edge detection settings.

    D) The 12V screen input works fine of the 12V Molex supply on my PicoPSU. I just cut and soldered the cable to one of many PCIE->Molex splitter cables I have lying around. Side-effect being the screen is only powered when the PC is, but that's no biggie (I don't intend on using the screen without the PC on).
I noticed the flex also." B) " I took a brass square tube and notched it to sit under the side mounting bracket. I had to wrap it in a insulating material. ( electrical tape) I also needed to file the lower part of the bracket. So it did not put to much pressure on the board. Seems to be fine now.

Still working on my projects details. Before I put it all together and in. Hope this helps.

Audio output has 4 pins. Labeled 1 2 3 and 4. Which one is what channel and which is the ground? I am trying to connect them to a 3.5mm audio plug.
