Both are the incorrect size (about 3mm to narrow in the opening) as the unit is made to the correct DD sizing.

But I knew this before I brought the unit and I have both facia and I got the unit only on Friday (had a hang over on Saturday) so I aint got around to making a decision yet if to trim out the 3mm and square the corner on the new DD facia or laser cut and adaptor ring to fill the standard facia in. On the depth side of things I have the unit so now I can work around that problem of what to do. There is the main bar the dash is mounted to so it not like just cut this and all is good im sorry to say. E3io in this thread http://www.mp3car.com/newbie/156262-...or-to-not.html if you have a read Novak points out that that company use's the front screen and a Small Edition (BYBYTE BlackBox) to get the depth down, but depending on the hard wear your going to use this maybe not an option.

For me I got the case and screen and will modify / rebuild from there it was only $20 differences between getting it with or with out, plus its a nice reference point to start from, anyway I hope that helps in some way....

Wow, so the model for sale on ebay will not fit in the WRX without some modes? If thats the case i may just go with my first idea and try to fit a tablet in the dash, if i have to cut into it anyway

I dont think this is right. pin 2 is 12 output, not ground. I made three of these and could not figure out why pin 3 was only out putting .8 volts. I will cross-refference the datasheet :

I will post what i find out.

yup, i see now. on fig.1 and fig. 2 on the datasheet they the pins go 1,3,4,2 i guess because its easier to show the diagram with them being in that order. I think you thought 3 was 2. Just wanted to bring it up in case anyone else has this issue. I will build another one today and post later.

Ok, now looking at the on/off regulator which is the last figure I think your diagram is correct. But when I place it in the bread board I still get .8 volt whether the on switch has high voltage or not. On a whim I flipped the chip backwards and it works! So I think the data sheet is wrong and pin one is on the right if the writing is facing you. So on the data sheet right above "internal connection diagram" and it has the pin outs it should be like your looking down on the chip. Is this correct, like how all data sheets are? Or is this a misprint?

I got pin position from the top right picture it shows looking at the chip laying flat with writing face up and pins towards you. As for the accuracy of the datasheet, you will have to verify that with sharp. been awhile since I have used one, and of course no notes to be found. the schematics usually just show the internal circuitry and have no real relation to pin position. I go by the top right image and pin assignment. Good luck SNO

Also have you done like the right picture pin out as you mentioned you had no power on pin 4 or 2 which are output and turn on maybe you need to apply power to pin 4 to get pin 2's voltage reading and ground on pin 3 just curious

yeh, this schematic is either wrong or its supposed to be like your looking down at the chip with the pins facing down. I flipped it around and it works GREAT! Thanks SNO!

Hi, any luck with getting feedback on this issue? My camera is doing the exact SAME thing. I connected the camera directly to the tv and it works fine.

Another problem recently occurred is when I switch the screen (car) on, it goes to AV1 by default. This used to be VGA and only switch to AV1 when in reverse gear. Any ideas on how to get it back to VGA default? I tried switching to VGA, switching the screen off then on again but it keeps going back to AV1

Maybe check your wiring to the reverse trigger wire? Also check your reverse light bulb to see if it has stopped working or the bulb is funky. Just a thought SNO

Is anyone having troubles with the SD card reader? I've actually got two bezels - one with a monitor and one without. With both, I plugged in all 3 USB cables (1 for touch screen, 1 for USB port and 1 for SD reader, I assume), and the touchscreen and the USB port works, but the SD reader does not do jack - it doesn't even show up in Device Manager. Does it need a driver? I assume if it does, it would at least show up in Device Manager. I'm on Win7 SP1.
