Would adding a capacitive touch panel to the front not decrease the visibility from reflections etc?

What? Googling that, it would mean very close to an iPhone 4 retina display (329ppi); with 323.45 PPI...
I doubt it you could get one for less than $500.00...if it's available at all. Accepting such a high resolution should be good enough for a 7" in most cases (like mirroring a high resolution tabletPC).

Yeah, 1920x1080 is too high, but I'd really like 1280x1024, or at least 1024x768.
Too many poor programmers don't test their dialogs on 800x600 or less monitors. I get things that pop up where I can't see the OK button. Or worse, they don't use standard OK and say "Accept" or "Yep" or something where I can't just hit alt-O to close the dialog.
I just ordered the screen as-is. No time to wait for the update. After speaking with the merchant, it looks like the reverse cam function does work from factory - there is a "white wire" that signals the screen to switch to AV1 as needed. Can someone confirm this?
For the price, this really isn't a bad display. And the 260 nit is misleading.
The LCD does perform quite well in sunlight conditions, and 800x480 is a decent res. @ 7"
"supported resolution" is very misleading, especially to those who are not familiar with this. It should be advertised as "scaled to support up to....."
But I do agree, a higher native like 1024 x 600 would put this panel on a higher pedestal.
