Yes, this was a concern of mine as well. Doesn't look OEM but for the price, it's hard to complain

Yep, it would make a huge difference. My thoughts for this would be an option in the menu that lets you hide OSD text (and only show up when you press the menu button). I am positive this is something that can be integrated through the software and wouldn't take much effort for the programmer.

Alternatively, maybe provide us with the source code for the OSD menus. I am sure there is a way to do ISP (in-system programming) on the board.

I would actually pay more for this feature!

spill/splash proof would be entirely enough. I have a boat project that this could be a viable addition to. right now im using a motion computing tablet pc, which fits the bill... but a hard mounted screen would be great too
