Wow! I go away for a few weeks and come back to some nice updates with this panel.
I don't like the case for a few reasons;
- the screen edge should be beveled so that you can more easily touch the edge of the panel.
- the stepped in buttons are great for DSLR guys, but for in the car it is hard to mold into a panel. I actually like the buttons being on the side of the monitor, but for me I will probably get some laser cut/etched buttons made and mold that panel into the car itself. If there is enough interest, and I can get them done for cheap enough, this might be something I would be willing to sell.
- Since this is being produced for a variety of markets, I think the best bet would be the standard tripod mount, vesa mounts, hot shoe and flash mounts would make it the most versatile. Dash/window mounts can be adapted to the VESA or tripod mounts.
I will probably just get the eby701 panel and mess with that, but it would be harder to mount the boards...
I love the new board, and the new OSD options, and will probably be ordering a kit from TFT_LCD_ORG in the near future. This is almost exactly what I need for my build (8" would be nice, but I'll take 7...)

In Capacitive Version 7" Samsung HDMI Display kit, does the capacitive touch screen fit exactly the outside dimension of the Samsung LCD screen + fit exactly the view area of the Samsung LCD screen?
Here are some pictures I took with my cell phone. This was while pointed NW with the sun coming in the windows. The sunroof was closed/shielded, or it would have been worse.
So that is what I see when I'm trying to navigate though towns on vacation.
Please excuse the temporary mounting (and dust!), I was very rushed for time before my trip. I also wanted to use the display for a while before I spent the time to build it in.
The pictures are with the brightness and contrast at stock level. It might get a little better if I turned them up further, but I can't get to those buttons. They are hidden behind the Lilliput panel. I can just get to the power and input change buttons, which is the minimum I needed to use the panel on the road.
Yea I bought the older version and I am sad to say that it is barely better than a stock Lili.
I'm sorry but you have to have an optically bonded touchscreen.
This screen IMO is barely any better in the sun than any other screen that is not transflective.
The capacitive panel is slightly (about 1.5 to 2mm) wider than the Samsung LCD. The touch screen is a true 7" panel,while the Samsung LCD is actually 6.9"

That's no good. I have the same car in a wagon and with the monster sunroof it would be even worse.

This way I can lift up the screen and reveal the storage bin.
I assume you're referring to the pic a couple of posts up? If so, no, it's doesn't look good in the sun. And that's with the sunroof closed.

Yes, that's what I was referring too. The resistive panel doesn't help, you can clearly see the milky reflection. I would try increasing the brightness to at least 75%, constrast won't help much up to a point, in my Xenarc the most drastic improvement comes from increasing the backlight, does the Samsung has this control available? If it has, you can try and post a picture with the backlight set to 0 (zero), IF it has some transflectiveness to it, it would show a picture (the sun would be the light source); a picture at max brightness may help too.
Please, Sebberry, post pictures if you can or your future setup, I understand you have that MoCoSo for a while (I remember the picture of your test), two years already? :-)
