The remote is considering cancel because most of client said it is useless and it need an IR receiver in the front...I will forward your feedback to our design team and see if they can keep it

Yes, it has a auto-switch to reverse channel function. The VGA version also has it. Please check the cable come with the control board, which looks same as the power input-plug.

I guess I'll have to move the buttons to a hidden panel someplace.

Do you have a reverse input so it will auto-switch to the video input when the reverse lights come on? I can't find it on the VGA version.

    I don't like the case for a few reasons;
    - the screen edge should be beveled so that you can more easily touch the edge of the panel.
    - the stepped in buttons are great for DSLR guys, but for in the car it is hard to mold into a panel. I actually like the buttons being on the side of the monitor, but for me I will probably get some laser cut/etched buttons made and mold that panel into the car itself. If there is enough interest, and I can get them done for cheap enough, this might be something I would be willing to sell.
    - Since this is being produced for a variety of markets, I think the best bet would be the standard tripod mount, vesa mounts, hot shoe and flash mounts would make it the most versatile. Dash/window mounts can be adapted to the VESA or tripod mounts.
I will probably just get the eby701 panel and mess with that, but it would be harder to mount the boards...

I love the new board, and the new OSD options, and will probably be ordering a kit from TFT_LCD_ORG in the near future. This is almost exactly what I need for my build (8" would be nice, but I'll take 7...)

Thanks for the great responses and the quick development on this thing.
You are exactly right, the case looks not that good for car user. I discuss this with our design team and what they said was, most of car user will have their own bezel, so they may only need something to mount the board. We are working on this.

This case is for standard monitor use. it will have the standard tripod mount, vesa mounts and hot shoe mount. Should be OK to mount on dash or windshield

I'm sorry but you have to have an optically bonded touchscreen.

This screen IMO is barely any better in the sun than any other screen that is not transflective.
Again, it is a sunlight viewable grade screen, like most GPS unit. If it is not transflective, all lights will pass through, no reflection. You can not see the image at all

we suggest you put a little shade and adjust the brightness to highest, it will helps a little.

The bad news is that I still have an issue with washed out blue. This is with no VGA plugged in, and it is still "smeared". When booted to windows it is less noticeable, but still there.
As we discuss in email, if the noisy problem is from the board. We will replace it, no worries

This is the first time we have issue like this, we will learn now if we get the board back. Again, sorry for the trouble.

Did I miss the final picture with the case?

Also, will it have the option to flip the image vertically, so that I can mount it upside down?

no, we don`t have the final picture yet

regarding to the flip. Why don`t you just mount the LCD upside down? you don`t need to flip it.

You mean why not upside up?

    1. Generally the bezel is slimmer at the top, and I'd rather see more of the screen area itself than blank plastic, a row of buttons, logos and what not (so no need to lower it that much to see the same thing); if the screen is going to be mounted *perfectly* centered on the monitor enclosure, than yes, it wouldn't make a difference for me.

    2. Easier to mount IF you use that slide mount (like the Xenarc picture above) or screw mount at the bottom-> because then the mounting point is hidden out of view. If I change to vesa, than it makes no difference indeed.

... I was interested in this screen from the start because of the fact it was simply a screen with no casing, flipping parts, or any other things that drive up the price.

WTF? It's not available anymore? What do you mean "it was" simply a screen?
