And no it is not always an issue. I have a Mo-Co-So 7" sunlight readable that I can view in direct sunlight easily. I have an Inelmatic 7" sunlight readable that is viewable in direct sunlight. I have a 10.4" Avionics that is viewable easily in direct sunlight.

It is possible. It needs to be transflective , high brightness and have an optically bonded touchscreen with antiglare. It's just going to cost you.

NO ONE ELSE IS COMPARING THIS MONITOR TO HIGH END MONITORS

Look at the title, its clear that people buying this monitor are trying to get the best bang for the buck monitor, which this currently is.

Well this sucks. Just as I was going to buy the monitor he up'd the price by almost $40. It's a sure deal killer for me now. Not saying it's not worth the money, but i was hesitant on replacing my lilliput as it was. Now that there was a 40 percent increase in price I'm out.

Sorry for the price increase. that caused by adding HDMI input. the chip cost more, plus we have to redesign the whole board...:(

For this problem. We have an option for non-AC-adapter kit, it only cost $133, plus the cheaper shipping $26 to the US. After you apply the $10 discount for mp3car user, it only $149 total. That only $12 more compare to the old VGA kit, but provide much better function. The only different is, you need to buy the standard AC-adapter yourself :)

I'm guessing you have to pay HDMI licencing fees and HDCP encryption fees too?

I'll compare this monitor to whatever I want to compare it to. It's a forum. A place to share ideas and review items and discuss things.

The title says "transflective". Everyone on this site assumes "transflective" means sunlight readable. I was pointing out that it's not.

I never said it wasn't a good screen or not worth the money . I said it's not sunlight readable. If you can't deal with the truth, don't read my posts.

Transflective implies that specific materials/polarizers are present in the assembled device. I'm assuming that this isn't the case for this monitor and the title should probably be changed.

I agree. The ebay listing now reads "New SAMSUNG 7" LED LCD Touch Screen Monitor Kit Outdoor", with no mention of transflective.

Right on. I agree as well.

The data sheets indicate that the LCD is a TMR (Transmissive with Micro Reflective).

I think the typical MIC shell game applied here, and Transmissive became Transflective since it is a key word buyers pick up on.

I do think the panel has certain benefits, including a great image when using the RCA inputs and it is cheap. However there are better choices for similar money that should be explored as well.

The seller has gone above and beyond to accommodate the numerous requests from users here, and that says something.

But in the end you can only put so much perfume and lipstick on a pig.

This display is what it is, and with a little add on work it is suitable for a lot of people. But you really can't make comparisons to monitors that have 6-700 price tags.
If that's the case, you might as well compare the 68.00 "android" tablets on ebay to ipads.
