If that's what floats your boat, but you've already been asked not to do it in this thread. I'm just saying, as a man, if I have integrity, I don't need to defend myself in childish situations. I simply leave the situation. It's like dealing with kids, if you teach your one child to ignore the other one when their being a pest or rude or mean, then they stop. It's an, um, attention thing. It's a pay attention to me, or if you don't i'm going to be rude thing. I'm not talking to one or the other, but both of you. You're each bashing each other and now instead of acting like adults and men with integrity, you're both acting like children. Not trying to spark another fight or argument, cause frankly it won't happen from my end, but to continue to see/read/hear you two do it, is irritating and I wish you'd stop or a mod would step in. It's childish and neither of you are proving the point you probably set out to prove. Discussion over. I just felt it needed to be said. And if you're needing to "defend yourself", then maybe you should dig a little deeper and search for some more integrity. That probably wasn't called for was it. I guess my delete button doesn't work, sorry! Truth hurts sometimes! BTW, cause I know how hard it is to tell over email or text, but this was not in an angry, mad, or raised voice! Just thought I'd throw it out there! I'd hate for you to feel "attacked"!

Well you have the right to your opinion.

My whole point if you will re-read all my posts in this thread was to inform people. Every time I attempted that I was blasted for it.

It is an Internet forum. Discussion is what is supposed to happen. If you didn't think so you wouldn't have added your two cents twice now , would you ?

And what I was trying to accomplish was accomplished. People are now informed that this screen is not sunlight readable. Mission accomplished despite the fact that some didn't apparently want to hear it.

Well I didn't want to read them in the first place, surely I'm not gonna go back and read them now. Thanks for your input to the situation at hand, I'm sure everyone, well maybe with the exception of 1, appreciates that.

You're right, it's a forum and thanks for your discussion.

    Hopefully moving on and back on track;
Aside of the one that was pictured a couple pages back, has anyone else attempted their own covering for this? What is everyone getting for depth as far as with the board sitting behind the screen? I was contemplating fabing my own surround for this. I'm just trying to get an idea. I have cutouts on my headrests already, so I'll be using those. My old pioneer units that were in there, that won't work with my set up anymore, are pretty thick, like about 3/4" to 7/8" plus the frame. I'm sure this would fit in that area, don't you guys think?

    I could do that, since I'm the OP, but I won't. :-)

Transflective is not a technical term, unless you can point where it's regulated. People have been buying serious business "transflectives" and they're not happy. It happens. What is it then? It's just a description. Like "fast", or "fuel efficient". People have been paying $6K premium for hybrids claiming it's fuel efficient, and 5 years on, they're still not saving 6K more than then non-hybrid version. So they conveniently measured the money spent on the car out of the equation of the money spent on gas. I think my easy 6.5 sec 0-60 times makes my 6K pound truck pretty fast, faster than a 1983 Ferrari 308 GTB, but slow compared to others, especially when the road gets twisty.

Is it accurate? I don't think so, that's why I used the double quotes "transflective"; it's open to interpretation. I was skeptical then, and I am now, it's up to the informed customer to make a decision.

If you're saying we have to save an idiot to buy these without reading anything else, in the auction or in the OP, then I think the title is actually a feature! LOL Totally worth it, IMHO.

Seriously though, as a history buff, I think we should respect internet history and keep things as they are as much as we can. You never know what impact this will have later.

You could EDIT your first post (kike you done 03-26-2011 at 02:52 PM) to say that it is not really a transflective screen.
So you keep history like you said and the reader will immediately know the "truth" (you noticed I used quotes so it's open to interpretation) which is for the moment somewhere in the 555 posts long thread.

Yes, we can sell the board for $87 alone for clients who order the kit or screen before. For Mp3car user, same $10 discount= $77. cheers!

Totally agree. especially for this: "respect internet history and keep things as they are as much as we can"

I really don`t like to get into a mud like this, but since it brings so much attention, I feel I need to share something: Samsung stated this screen is TMR, with Micro Reflective, which has better performance under the sunlight compare to regular transmissive panel. We did our own test under the sunlight before selling it. although this panel is not perfect like those 1000nit or reflective panel, but it did perform better than most 7" screen. it is "readable" like my Garmin 760 GPS, if the sunlight is too strong, you need a shade or turn its angle, then it works. What really attract us with this panel is: the color performance. It is much better than TW panel.

Anyway, calm down and enjoy. Sharing should be a enjoyment

Unlike a transflective display, TMR is more transmissive than reflective, with some reflective properties. The advantage is better color saturation and better indoor performance than a true transflective technology.

So at best it's a partial transflective (transmissive with partial reflective properties). Not knocking the screen for what it is, but it isn't a full "transmissive/reflective (transflective) display.
