Hi, I got answer from the tech guy

1. the chips on the board getting hot is normal, it is because the backlight chips. The first 5000pcs board(REV-A) are all like this. The Rev-B we sell now, change another chip, which will be cooler. but this won`t cause any problem. don`t worry.

2. did you try to install the following driver? is the system can not recognized the device and shows unknown device. usually caused by the driver.

Hi,

1. I have rev-B so that's not the problem. Like I said, I have only used it twice. It was sitting in my draw while waiting for my other carpc components.

2. I did install the driver and still no luck. I think this is related to the board getting hot. I did a test with and without the lcd connected to the board. It seems the board (and lcd bottom) only gets hot when the lcd is connected

Hi, base on our record, your order is Rev-A...all boards print the same because the circuit board has no change, just the chips

Did you try another computer? what OS you use? do the following steps:

1. plug the cable into the USB port.
2. install the software.
3. re-start your OS

for the hot, you doing the right test. The chip is for power up the screen`s back light. If no LCD connected, it won`t work and no heat.

Ok, I thought rev B was the hdmi version and rev A was without hdmi

I still think there a problem with either my board or the lcd because the board gets so hot that I can bearly touch it. Also with regards to the touch screen, I tried what u said but still not go. I tried this on 3 computers (2 windows 7 and 1 xp). I'm pretty sure the fact that it says 'usb device not recognized' means there's a hardware problem because if it were software, it would say 'cannot install driver' or 'driver install failed'

Try double click that device, then "update driver", point to the unzip file. see what happen.

If you can, change the USB cable.

again, the heat is normal. We did a test before by keeping this monitor runs for 6 days and it works normal

Ok, I'll come back to the heat issue.

I tried exavtly what you said but windows says that 'unknown device' is the best driver. I don't have another usb cable. Will try and get 1 and see what happens

Some heat is normal...during operation. But Kimoo says it gets too hot to touch. That is not normal. There is a problem with the display.
Sounds like a short somewhere. Remember, heat kills electronics.

It is the back light chips. It is hotter than regular chips but still in normal range. We have come out Rev-B with another chips which is cooler
