if there is a short, you should not be able to power up your screen for even 10 mins
I don`t think that happen at this point. but don`t worry, if the problem is from the board or screen. we will exchange for you.

I will check for shorts but if I wanted to do an exchange, how would it work? Because shipping from South Africa is very expensive, probably more then the pice of a new board and lcd
hum, that is the problem. I will pop this question to my colleague, we figure that out later.
At this point please try to get another USB cable, check all the cables connection as tft_lcd_org suggest (thanks man), keep it on for few hours and we go from there.
Just FYI. This board is not easy to break down because we design it for industry use. The defective rate is very very low as I see in record. Also we done "burn in" test for every international retail order. You should be fine![]()

Ok, quick update. The touch screen now works. It seems the problem was with the usb cable that was provided.
With regards to the board, it only gets hot when the backlight cable is connected (i.e. the 6pin cable). Is there anyway I can fix this myself? Or make a psu for the backlight? I do not want to send the board back due to the postage cost. Also could it be a problem with the lcd?
Also note the I burnt myself when I touched the copper wired thingy so thats how hot it gets!
Using my multimeter, pins 1, 3, 5 are connected to each other and pins 2, 4, 6 are connected to ground. Is this correct?
I'm guessing that 1, 3, 5 carry a certain voltage. Correct? Anyone know what voltage this should be?

No and no. The only ones connected are those mentioned. Cable is 100% perfect
