I was hoping to get some info from the collected wisdom of the community. I was going to PM tft_lcd_org, but I thought I would post so that the rest of the forum can benefit from the answers.

I see that this panel got a review on the front page of mp3car...cool, that should drum up some interest.

I see that there are multiple options on ordering (Raw, screen only, in an enclosure, no touchscreen). Obviously I want the least expensive screen option that has what I need, and not a bunch of un-needed stuff (ac power supply, resistive touchscreen).

I was wondering if it has been determined if this will fit in the 701 chassis that tft_lcd_org was suggesting back on the first page of the thread?

How hard is it to change out the resistive touchscreen with the capacitive? (Once they are back in stock.) Also will it still fit in the 701 chassis with capacitive Touchscreen? The pictures of the capacitive screen on tft's website show it to be much more transparent than the resistive touchscreen.

My motivation here is that I drive a 96 Honda Del Sol. It has a single din slot that I was hoping to put the screen in. As the single DIN factory radio fits behind a flip cover to hide the radio, I was hoping to remove the radio and put this screen in it's place. I was hoping to fab some kind of slide that would allow the screen to come out when needed and slide back into the dash, and allow the factory cover to close when not in use. I was not going to go into the complexity of anything motorized. I also have the feeling that it might partially cover the HVAC controls when it's being used, so I would like it to at least fold down to allow use of the HVAC controls. I'm trying to determine the best way to utilize this screen, with capacitive touch, if possible, in my application. I'm not absolutely certain that I need it in an enclosure, but it might make life easier, even if it does add to the thickness of the display, it looks like it still might slide into a single DIN slot.

If anybody has any feedback, it would sure be appreciated.

tft_lcd_org will have them for sale with the capacitive panel when he gets them in stock again.

Here are the photos that I took of my setup when testing the reverse camera. The camera is hooked up to AV1 as was indicated by Derrick, I have a +12V feed connected to the internal portion of the barrel plug and GND attached to the external portion of the barrel plug. When I switch the +12V on the input switches from VGA to AV1 and when I turn it back off it switches right back to VGA. I hope these photos can help.

I came across this thread and read through a little of it, but I admit that I have not read the whole thing. One thing I would like to know is, will the screen auto-on/off via the HDMI input or does it only trigger off the VGA like most older screens? If it does not trigger off the HDMI then if you choose the HDMI input and then cut the power to the screen will it come right back to HDMI when power is restored?

Just bought the screen and an adapter as well. For those who were as lost as I was to where to find a car adapter or what kind:

    http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3802146

Radioshack sells them. Fits perfect with the screen, 12V and 2A. I'm planning to integrate this with the android touch module from custom gadz.

Thanks to the people who suggested flipping the cable. I got it wrong the first time. Also, the pictures posted in the ebay post were very helpful for setting up the connections.

My only question is, is there anyway I can get extensions for the ribbon cables? I am planning on integrating this with a flipout unit but the board wont' fit nicely.....

I've unplugged the unit and upon reconnecting, it starts in HDMI. If I turn it off, upon reconnecting power, it stays off. At least thats its done to this point.

Dredged this one up from page 49, I have not been able to find an answer yet. What a thread! I've got two of these screens with the older VGA board, and need to figure out a way to adjust the backlight. I'm assuming there is a PWM adjust or maybe even a voltage divider I can get access to? Is anyone aware of this?

Has anyone here bought this HDMI LCD with the enclosure?
I contacted Derrick looking for a pic of the enclosure, but all he had at the time was the 3d CAD drawing.
If you did, can you post a pic of it?
I would really like to upgrade from my 6 year old 7" lilliput that only works when it wants to (TS)
    Thanks!
