    Peavey,

Are you not able to do a custom resolution within windows? Right-clicking on the desktop should give you access to an ATI display settings window. It's been years since I used ATI but I can say nVidia still does this. From there you can do custom resolutions. Hoping ATI has similar stuff. It's not something directly available through standard Windows options.

When i look at the catalyst control centre I see 800x480 in the list as supported resolution. when i select it half of the start bar is cut off.

when i click on Menu on the lcd screen, its showing resolution as 800x600 even though in windows its showing 800x480

One thing I would like to know is, will the screen auto-on/off via the HDMI input or does it only trigger off the VGA like most older screens? If it does not trigger off the HDMI then if you choose the HDMI input and then cut the power to the screen will it come right back to HDMI when power is restored?
The screen will auto switch on/off when it receive signal. When you put it on HDMI channel and there is HDMI signal come in, it will auto on. Once the signal disappear, it will auto go to sleep mode. Same as the VGA channel

Don`t switch it off. That will make the screen state in OFF position. Just keep it in sleep mode(when no signal)

I've got two of these screens with the older VGA board, and need to figure out a way to adjust the backlight. I'm assuming there is a PWM adjust or maybe even a voltage divider I can get access to? Is anyone aware of this?
Sorry, there is no way to add back-light adjustment to the old board. As I know, it should be control by the new chip

    help please...
Hi, the screen shows the real resolution signal it receive. So when it shows 800* 600, means your output has problem. You should google "800*480 driver" with your video card model#, get a correct driver to work on real 800*480

Quick question... With just the resistive screen, what is the recommended double din case? I see there's cases for the 669 and 629 from bybyte. Is one better or easier to fit than the other?
