Sorry if this has been covered before, but the search is returning "database error"...

Anyway, i'm torn between the two.

I don't really have any use that I can think of off the top of my head for HDM or anything. My use will be simple and in a very simple, MP3, Iguidance, Web, Photos car pc.

The thing about the EBY that jumps out at me is that it's much wider and I might have to shave the casing. It is much cheaper which is very nice, but the 669 does have the enhanced brightness... anyone have any thoughts?

keep in mind that both units can be mounted in a bybyte case that would allow for easy mounting in a double din opening. though the mounting brackets are slightly different for the 2 models, so keep that in mind..

personally, after handling a early led629, 669, and transflective 669, in terms of the lowest cost option, i would pick the HB 669 over the 701/629 because of the connection flexibility(i changed carpc mo.bo.'s after 3 months to a model that has vga, dvi, and hdmi outputs) and the fact that it is a brighter screen which makes sunlight readability easier. i feel the 669 is the best-cheapest alternative to a screen outfitted with the expensive transflective upgrade.

First of all, I didn't even know what a bybyte case was until you just posted that. THANKS!! I will certainly consider it. I think I like the idea of the 669 better as well. I appreciate your feedback.
