What do you guys think of this? Not hard to setup, searched the whole web for this and didnt find it, so its my original idea

Hope you enjoy and like!
So the setup, found an old 7" lcd of camera surveillance and noticed it had a button to revert/flip/mirror the image. Hooked up my iphone, installed displayout app. Video in lcd, audio out to the car radio.
Unfortunatly it doesnt work in daylight (yet).
My goal was to flip the TomTom app, there are lots of apps in HUD mode for gps-based speed but I wanted navigation.
Next step is to make it work during daylight (maybe with a sort of film on the windshield) and in combination of the new iPhone 4s Siri app that uses a very advanced voice control feature.
Here is a Demo

so...? do tell the details?
How's it set up?
How's it during the day time?
Hm, looks like a pico-projector of an iPhone/iPodtouch inverted then pu ton the window/reflective film. If I ignore the music then it has potential, but how does it look from outside the car? would it be considered a distraction to other drivers?
Interesting. Details?
Alexp3,......I'm also a bit intrigued/curious on how you pulled this off too. Looks cool.
Better with earplugs though.![]()
i am also curious of the details, though i suspect a simpler method-- i can see a double reflection on the window glass, meaning that he is probably projecting the image on non-modded glass, and i haven't seen too much positive info on using projectors due to the fact that they 'beam' more then reflect off surfaces, so i suspect it is a 7" screen placed flat on the dash..
My 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT:
"The Project That Never Ends"
more projects then time!
Led Skyline Tail Lights--100%
High Power Led Reverse Lights--100%
Led third brake light--100%
Led front turn signals--0%
HID retro--100%
It is very similar to the reflection I get on my windscreen from my normal Lilli 7". The way mine sits in the dash it is tilted back slightly, so I get a fairly clear reflection on the windscreen at night, however it is in reverse (as you would expect!).
So this does look similar, although having the image corrected to be right way round is interesting.
I'm guessing these "reflection of LCD on windshield" type HUDs only work at night? the results can't be close to oem HUDs that come in cars like BMWs. can they?
Is that a Jeep Grand Cherokee? How did you project the image on the windshield? Using portable projector or LCD? I'm also doing some modification on my Jeep WJ, try to find a way get the image via iphone. Could you provide more info about your project?
