    So Frustrated!! (Solved)

This Issue has been solved. The problem was related to how the monitor was connected to the PC. See Final Postings.

Thanks for all your help. 1 down, 2 to go.

    Hi All.
Hope I am posting in the correct thread and that someone can point me in the right direction. My first CarPC install and I am so frusted. My touch screen monitor does not work after restarting the PC. I have to uninstall the drivers each time and sometimes it takes a few restarts before it works again. My PC Specs are below:

    WIN 7 PRO (all updates)
Lilliput 669GL-70NP/C/T-HB-RV 7" HDMI, DVI, VGA High Brightness, 4 Wire Resistive Touch Screen Monitor (Tried all suggested drivers on this site)
    Zotac G41-ITX Wifi
    2 GIG Ram

Does anyone have this same setup working properly?
    Should I try WINXP?
    Should I get another MB?

I have search the Forum, but have not seen any issues related to my own. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

How are you powering the touch side usb via powered hub or directly into mainboard usb port, what power supply are you using? some more details would help SNO

    Thanks.
Directly into the mainboard. Using the M2-ATX 160W and Quick disconnect kit from the MP3car store.

is your pc in a place where you can try to disconnect the t/s usb cable and reconnect it after startup? i am wondering if it is a issue with the usb cable and not the screen.

also, where is the pc located, and how long is the usb extension going to the screen?

and finally-- when it doesn't work, i assume you have a different way to control the mouse-- if you go into computer management, does the touch screen show up under the devices list? this is kind of redundant of the first question, as disconnecting and reconnecting should give you the windows 'device disconnected' and 'device reconnected' sounds if working correctly at the windows level.

overall, i don't believe that it should be a OS or mainboard issue, because them you should be seeing other odd issues elsewhere in the setup--does windows act odd anywhere else, or do any of the mainboard usb ports have issues with other devices?

The PC is easily accessible and I can try your suggestion.

The PC is located under the rear seat of the Ford Explorer. The USB extension is six feet.

The touch screen shows up as Touchscreen Controller(Universal) "can't remember eactly". When it does work, it works perfectly even after resuming from hibernation. Only when I restart the PC that I have a problem. I have a mouse/keyboard combo that I use otherwise.

Windows does not act odd with any of the other USB devices.

^^ That link above, didn't work on my Win7 install. I ended up trying the xp drivers (I found them off a lilliput mini disc I had from an old touchscreen), and they worked perfectly. Who knew Win7 drivers didn't work with Win7. Maybe try the XP drivers as well, although not saying it will directly work with you/your system, but worth a try.

Of course, I haven't re-started mine since using the drivers, always hibernating.

Those are the drivers I've used and never had a problem. I wonder why your Win7 system doesn't work with them, when my Win 7 Ultimate system does.
