Help with LILLIPUT 669GL touch NOT WORKING aaaaaaaaaaaghhhh

    UPDATE: FIXED READ BELOW
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h278T...layer_embedded

I'm gonna throw this piece of S$@! out my car window!

Ok first of all my system

    Windows 7 64 bit
Asus E35m1 Deluxe ( Amd e350 APU 1.6ghz dual core)
    DDR 3 4gig single stick
    128gig SSD crucial hdd
    M3 ATX 125watt

Lilliput 669GL 7inch touchscreen using DVI/USB (pc side ) and HDMI ( monitor side ) cable + HDMI female/male extension cable ( no usb hubs used, straight into the back of the motherboard )
For power, i use the cigarette plug and i also spliced into that wire for the computer ignition wire. So when i have ignition on, car pc turns on, and supplies power to llilliput monitor and all you need is to press the lilliput power button.

Ok before i get flamed for not searching.. YES i have searched.. at least 15 pages on this site.. with many ppl havin similar problems and i haven't found the solution yet!

Second of all, the screen has never been opened. It is brand new and hardly used.
Thirdly, if i can't get it fixed, (i'm sure its software related) ill be selling it so if anybody wants it, link me up. It's yours for 200$ flat, with all the cables and all.

At first, i had everything working. I actually plugged everything in before the drivers were installed. And the screen actually responded but was definatly calibrated wrong.
So i installed the drivers on the cd, calibrated it with 4 point calibration and it was VERY NICE! Worked flawlessly..

So i am setting up my car pc.. installing XBMC and when i opend up XBMC i was having problems with the touch. It was getting stuck and not responding..

So I closed XBMC and realaunched calibration. I launched 9 point calibration for better accuracy. It said " reading paramters " and it kinda froze on me.

After that, controller cannot be found. Now there is 0 touchscreen function, no controller except just visuals work fine.

I tried the latest EGALAX drivers on their website. Still doesn't detect. Now windows says " usb device not recognized " and every time i plug it in and out it says the same thing.

So i removed the EGALAX DRIVER, and didn't do anything for 2 days. I just drove my car a few times... Eventually i touched the screen.. i noticed it responded.. again.. responded but needed calibration... so then i reinstalled the egalax driver again and calibrated.. and AGAIN IT WORKED!!! After a restart, GONE.

    No more controller
    usb device not recognized

    what i have tried
    1. Turn off option to "control power on usb devices " in device control manager
    2. Install driver on cd, install latest driver on egalax website
    3. Dont hook up cables until install is finished, or until it asks to hook up cables, hook up cables before etc
    4. When windows says usb device not recognized, tell windows to browse to location of x64 touchmon.sys on the driver folder. That ends in a error something like " this driver is not compatible with the hardware "

Basically i am pretty sure it is sofware/usb related and my touchscreen is fine since SOMETIMES it decides to work and decides to be found by the touchscreen controller. Yes i have tried different USB ports. All my other devices work in all the usb ports and it doesnt matter anyways because windows cannot recognize this hardware. I cant believe i read dozens of threads from as early as 2005 with the same problem and no solution after 6 years. Like comon wtf does anybody's lilliput 669 REALLY WORK after restarting your PC? Should i get a xenarc?? Will i have the same troubles with the Xenarc?

I just want to stop this madness somebody please help me, i will rip my hear out and throw this POS in the garbage I have had 0 ISSUES with the car PC going except the touchscreen. And reading all the bad threads on this makes me wonder if there is ONE person out there, that had a lilliput working for more than 2 days straight. Please tell me i can fix this, or that by going to xenarc i wont have this problem. I just dont want to buy another monitor only to find out the problem was usb related or w/e. It has to be ! Since it works sometimes and sometimes not! Thanks a lot for those that will try to help me

Lilliput 669gl have some hardware problem. Because, firmware it have manage power status for USB touch IC (silabs). When signal lost, or sleep mode or etc., firmware in ic RTD2662 check it and disconnect (used transistor as relay) IC chip for touch function from power.

thank you for reply, but what exactly do you mean? I am not an expert at these screens or taking them apart. And what do you think the solution is? And if i buy a Xenarc, would i be better off

Does the cigarette lighter socket work for the lilliput or does the lilliput need a constant 12v because when you turn the key to off, the cig lighter socket loses 12v. So i have it so it shuts down both computer and monitor when you turn key to off.

So does it need to be hooked up to 12v constant? If yes, can this monitor handle that without draining the battery?

Ok guys so i have made SOME progress. I have determined that , once i take out the key from ignition, and put it back in to start the pc, the lilliput monitor wont register

The way to register the monitor is to UNPLUG the monitor from the cigarette lighter socket, take out the usb cable, wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in ( power cable first, usb cable when system is booting )

    Then the controller is found!

So as the poster above says, it seems like the monitor looses USB functionality when power is taken out from the 12V, which means it should need a 12V constant. And my problem is i use the cigarette lighter as my power source so it always looses power after ignition off.

So if i wire my lilliput to 12V constant positive wire from the dash, and find a ground wire and wire it to the liilliput connector that goes in the monitor, would that work?

I have two 669s installed in my car, and they both work perfectly. Have you taken your 669 to another computer to test it? Where did you download the drivers from? Did you get them here?

The 669 does not need a constant 12v source.

thanks for the reply. How is your lilliput wired into the power? Mine is wired through the cigarette socket with the included lilliput cable but my computer power supply m3 atx turn on wire is spliced into the same cigarette lighte for the turn on signal to the m3atx. Could that be the problem. They don't like sharing the power? I understand the m3atx only uses the ignition wire momentarily for the turn on signal, then switches on the 12v constant power? That is why i decided to use the power from there, as it would provide power for both the lcd and the computer turn on signal.

Like i said, it seems a driver issue or a power issue. Because when i take out the power cables from the monitor and the usb and restart and put the power cable first, then usb, it works after. My lilliput is new so i doubt its broken but i probably need help with power wiring or software.

    ^+1.

though i can confirm that it will work off a constant source, and not drain the battery-- i ran one like it last year-- when my car sat for 3-4months at a time..

Exactly. Plus, there's the option in the firmware to enter standby when the signal is lost, ie: when the computer is turned off, which helps save the battery.

i dont know guys what is going on. I am not a n00b or anything like that, i got everything else installed. I got internet via my android phone, video drivers, soundcard works, bluetooth works.

I was just in the garage messing with it. It seems to not like hibernate. It seems like it will work after the car rests and the m3atx goes to hardoff. Then once i turn it back on, and restart it it works sometimes.

It did like 4/5 times just now. And the last time it didnt. And when it does work, it freezes on calibration screen. The calibration thankfully is good once it works. it just freezes on reading parameters, or writing parameters and does nothing and closes. I have checked the hardware and its a Saturn UR but when i click hardware settings it also goes to reading parameters and just does nothing and closes. It is just frustrating me because when it works, IT WORKS. Until i take the key out of the ignition and restart. then its GONE. And messing with turning it on and off, plugging cables in and out usually resolves it if nothing else. Though i doubt cables are 'loose' because i can sit in the garage and one session it works, and after a restart it wont or vice versa.

What other power settings are there to adjust in windows other than to put to hibernate ? Or USB settings, Com port settings etc.
To the people that have it working, how is it connected to your pc? What cables and how long, and how is it connected to your power source. What OS are you running?
