Connecting/power/controlling LVDS LCD directly from motherboard
I'm looking to install a simple CarPC in my MX5 with a double DIN mini-itx enclosure and 7 inch display (think ByByte), I was looking for my own display directly from China most likely and came across the Mitsubishi AA070MC01. At the risk of sounding like another 'will this display work' newbie, I have a slightly different take on the question.
Now I know the measurements for that display are 170mmx110mmx9mm (near as damnit) so immediately it's 10mm bigger in height than the standard for double DIN which I believe is 100mm, but I'm hoping to measure out and find a way of mounting it so that it won't matter so ignoring this point, the display is listed as being a single channel 6 or 8bit LVDS display with a 20pin connector.
I was looking to use the Intel DH61AG motherboard which happens to have an LVDS connector onboard and additional connections for LCD power/backlight power/backlight control however, the LVDS connect is a 40pin connector so I am confused, perhaps this is because it also supports dual channel LVDS? But the pin outs also seem different so I'm not sure if you can by pre-made 40pin -> 20pin cables or if it would even work?
