screen turns red??

i got a power supply for my laptop, dc/ac apapter. i turn my laptop on, and the screen turns on fine, winamp starts playing, then after about 20-30 seconds, the screen turns red and winamp continues to play music. i'll reboot the comp and the same process occurs.

i have the screen from digitalww. i haven't tried it w/o the power supply attached to it though. any ideas what is happening?

the same thing happened when i unplugged the computer from its power supply. it works for about 30 seconds after winamp auto starts, then it turns red.

i forgot i changed the power settings for when i got the power inverter. i didn't see that the laptop went on standby until i took it out the car. so, just in case it happens to someone else, i'm posting it.
