    800X480 Video Card

I know there have been a lot of posts about the Xenarc (and other) screens and setting windows to do 800X480, my question is which video cards support this resolution? I have tried a Geforce 4 to no success (with Powerstrip) and I am curious if the ATI brand cards will support it. Thanks for the help. Barrett

My GeForce TI 4200 128MB DDR works fine at 800x480, but I prefer 1000x600.

My Radeon 32MB DDR LE also works fine at both of those resolution.

If powerstrip lets you add a custom resolution, then it should work at any resolution including 800x480.

What does it do when you add the custom resolution and switch to in display property settings? The screen may not specifically state that its running at 800x480 but you can clearly see that the images are no longer stretched.

I am using a ti4800, and when I add the custom resolution to powerstrip, it says I must reboot the machine to see if the driver will take the new res. When I reboot, the option is not there. I have gotten 848X480 to work, but the picture does not line up properly on the lcd. I have an older Xenarc, so it doesn't support the higher resolutions (washes out to white).

When you say the option is not there...where is there? It should be listed display properties -> settings either in the slider or under advanced list all modes. Insure you are using the latest drivers and latest powerstrip. The graphics card should be capable of running at that resolution even if the monitor does not support it.

Not sure about the older xenarc, but on my xenarc osd menu you can line up the picture manually if the auto doesn't take care of it.

How do you do that, my Gigabyte Radeon 9000 Pro II only has 1024x768 or 1280x768 options (the nearest of yours)

When I add 800X480 in the custom resolutions screen it prompts me to restart the computer to see if the driver will accept the changes. When I reboot, the option does not appear in the resolution slider on the main screen of powerstrip, but other resolutions that I have added do.

In the manual the least is 800x600 in WinXP on a Gigabyte Radeon 9000 nonPro. Here it is possible:
    http://www.rageunderground.com/artic...ro/index.shtml
    Mode Tables
    2D DISPLAY MODES
Resolutions, colors and maximum refresh rates (Hz) in 256, 65K or 16.7M colors
    Monitor Resolution Hz
    640x480 200
    800x600 200
    1024x768 200
    1152x864 200
    1280x1024 160
    1600x1200 120
    1920x1080* 16:9 120
    1920x1200 100
    1920x1440 90
    2048x1536 85

*16:9 aspect ratio monitors are supported on 1920x1080 and 848x480 on Windows® XP, Windows® 2000 and Winpows® ME. The complete list of resolutions depends on the driver version and operating system. NOTE: that resolutions are limited by the performance of the attatched monitor.

Complete guide on how to do widescreen for Radeon cards

    http://www.dtvmax.com/radeon_guide.htm

Ignore the it only works on genuine ATI cards as I have 3 radeon's that are from 3rd party companies including a radeon 7000 and they all worked using this method
