    10.4 inch screen

    I'm looking for a cheap 10.4 inch screen for in my car. i dont want a case around it or anything else just the screen and a controler to hook it to my epia.
    But i cant find a shop where they sell them only at earth lcd

    I can get you a Dicon 1280EI controller with NEC NL8060BC26-17 lcd with sunlight readable (1000+NITS) backlight for $180 shipped to you. It has everything to turn it on, including inverter. All you need is a 12V-18V power source and hook it to your vga port.

    Hey ddogg_777 Is that unit dimable by any chance 1000+NITS is damn bright for night driving. I would extremely interested in this unit as well.

    For the striaght record it is a 10.4 inch screen? right? just hook up power and vga and good to go?

    Damn dude good price.

    um... sorry, but the data sheets for that screen list it as 280 cd/m^2 (nit). nowhere near the 1000 nit that you are advertising.

    also, with a contrast ratio of 300:1, i would think that if you were to include a 1000 nit capable backlight, the image would be washed out by the backlight.

    i may be wrong, or you may be wrong, but as long as the datasheet says 280 nit, i am not going to think any differently.

    Tsk, tsk. The lcd is no longer for sale, you should have been keeping up on the classified forum under "high bright lcd". The supplier had several but has now sold out, I just got an email. This NEC lcd was modified by ALL-BRITE with four backlights (not two like the datasheet says). The polarizer and filter were also changed to increase the viewing angle. I can see mine from nearly any direction. The image is not washed out!! The included inverter is dimmable from 0-100 so it can be used at night. Was there anything else I needed to clarify or are there still doubts?
