So is this the extent of HD touch panels, what has been suggested thus far? I've been looking for HD capable screens in a 7 & 12 inch widescreen format, in a panel/flush mount installation. My application is not vehicular, and the higher quality will make a difference.
The Revosys product looks like it could work for me, but the price is quite dear. I imagine that is the result of no competition, from what I've (not) found.
I should also say hello, I just came across the forum. Thanks for letting me jump in!
I think I may try out the one on ebay that's 1280x800, someone said the controller board it comes with won't actually accept that resolution but I've been talking with the seller and he says it does? So I think I may give it a shot and see, worse comes to worse I'll use the emails as proof of his claims and get a refund.
Probably, and if it's the case then you can say I told you so. I know you want me to buy something from you, you just don't have quite what I'm looking for. If you can get something that's in the higher pixel density then by all means I'd gladly buy it from you.
That's not what I meant. I just wanted to let you know that I have been using those very same controllers, and they are limited.
The seller you mentioned is where I get them from, and I program them here for what ever panel I am using. The controller uses the same RTD 2662 chip that the Lilliputs use.
If you look at the datasheets for that chip, you will see that up to 1440 x 900 Input is accepted.
However, without the proper firmware flashed to it, then it is only as good as the paper it's printed on.
As for purchasing from me, sure that would be nice but I would rather lose a sale and have an Informed Customer walk away than sell you something you don't want/can't use.
I understand, and I wasn't trying to be an ***. Honestly I'd love for you to have a 1280x800 display. If the chip can support 1440x900 input then wouldn't it be able to accept a 1280x800 input? Which is what the seller claims.
Who knows maybe he updated the firmware? I agree the price is very nice which is why I'm ok with taking a stab at it. If it doesn't work as they claim I'll have to go through the process of trying to get a refund, or at the worst I'll be out 100 bucks which will suck but not the end of the world. If it does work then that's awesome and maybe you can start carrying them and I'll definitely buy one of those 6.95" touch overlays from you :)
Well I should have the LCD sometime this week and I'll let you guys know for sure. tft_lcd_org maybe if it has different files than what you have he will send them to you, or maybe we can get them off this one or something. I'll also be interested in knowing when you get those 6.95" touch panels.
