It's pretty hard to talk to this guy lol, but I tried to see if there would be a way to change the firmware to support computer resolutions over HDMI. It seems it only supports 720p and 1080p over HDMI for some reason? Anyways it won't work for me so they are refunding my money and paying to ship it back.
Does the touch panel support multitouch? I don't see it mentioned anywhere in on the description on ebay. And where would one be able to find a controller for the touch panel (since it does not come with it.) I'm debating on biting the bullet and purchasing 2 of these for a project I have going (but only if they are multi-touch and a controller for the touch can easily be found/purchased.)

I didn't get the touch panel one actually. Honestly I think it may be able to accept 1280x800 over HDMI. He ended up offering me a partial refund and I'm going to keep it. We'll see if I'm able to use it for what I need. I'll likely grab one of the multi touch panels from tft_lcd when he gets them (6.95"). The touch panel model doesn't have a touch panel controller and I didn't feel like trying to find one to work.

And what about the quality of this screen and its controller board as per two posts above ?

Do you know when it will be available the multi touch panel from tft_lcd - they are advertised since last year in July or so, and nothing?

I'm not sure, his site says the 6.95" panel will be in soon? The screen it self looks quite good, just gotta try and get the right resolution.

I'm not sure if its the identical panel as the nexus 7 I'll have to look for a tear down video or pics.

An update though, I decided to load up Ubuntu live CD and test it and wolla within seconds of is running native 1280x800 at 60hz over HDMI no problem and looks quite good. The only thing I'm wondering now is weather there might be some points I could tap or modify on the controller to control and adjust the backlight.
