Lilliput 669 HB - Longer HDMI Cable?

The problem is with the USB. The data pair passes through the Lilliput HDMI or VGA cable. If you add the extension on the monitor side, the USB pair dead ends at the Lilliput cable.
A regular HDMI cable would not have the data pair.

Since the USB connector on the PC side of the Lilliput cable breaks out, adding the HDMI extension on the PC side does not interrupt the USB data pair.

Considering that I haven't actually seen one of these in person, is the connector on the monitor side a normal-looking HDMI connector? All the pics I've seen appear to be so, did they add extra pins? Or just reassign pins that don't actually do anything under normal HDMI spec?

Gah, makes me want to buy one and find out.

I think he's asking for the HDMI + USB plug pics.

If the monitor side plug is an HDMI spec plug, then like Tidder I have no idea. I'm supposed to be receiving one soon so when I see it I will take a look and post pics.

The caliber of this mechanical drawing is unlike any I've ever seen.

Bizarre that they use a standard HDMI connector yet a normal HDMI extension doesn't work.

Here are some close ups.

The USB data pair passes through the HDMI cable, so as long as the extension is on the PC side, it is not an issue. The USB connector breaks away on the PC side.

I don't have a Lilliput pinout handy, but there iare at least 2 unused pins so they use 2 of them for the D+ and D-.

Only the D+ and D- pair is passed through. The ground and 5v for the touch controller is provided by the LCD controller. That is why people sometimes have issues with the
touch screen. If you turn the monitor off, but the PC is on, the data pair is active, but the touch controller does not have power. Same is true for the opposite.

Turn the PC off, but keep the monitor on and you still have power but no data pair to the touch controller.
