    It's a firmware issue that Chalk had been (for the most part) ignoring.

    I was pretty upset about the firmware only being full brightness single touch, but they've updated the firmware now, and 04d8 f724 shows up for multitouch, and the ambient light sensor works.

    They just updated the firmware last night, at last!
    What drivers are you using for multitouch also...just generic hid?

    The firmware is on Chalk's website. Go to the product you purchased under "SHOP", at the bottom you'll see Firmware Version 1.5, this will take you to their Google Drive. Download the appropriate firmware [they explain which is which under SUPPORT ("How to Update Pic Firmware...") on their website as well].

    Camo.b, ya, just the generic firmware. I followed the directions on Odroid Magazine February Edition. and also the Odroid Forum. To save some lsusb-ing, the Black Frame 7" Chalk Screen is;
    Single Touch: 04d8:f723
    Multitouch: 04d8:f724

    I did things just a tiny bit differently than these guides;

    First I downloaded the source from hardkernel's github (3.0.y-android).

    I made the revisions to hid-ids.h and hid-multitouch.c as described in the magazine. But I didn't use one of the configs described in the odroid forum;

    I ran make ARCH=arm odroidu_android_emmc_defconfig(or the closest thing to what I had), and then ran make ARCH=arm menuconfig and then made the changes in menuconfig as described in the magazine. After this I followed the remainder of the forum and it all worked... The second time... Make a backup of your OS/SD Card, etc. Luckily I had made a backup halfway through and just rsynced my data partition and SD Card partition when I got the kernel working.

    Then made the .idc file, and it worked.

    The ambient light sensor doesn't need any drivers, works out of the box once the firmware has been loaded.

    Anyone know when they will have more of these in stock. I've emailed them a few times but never got a reply.

    The Chalk screens? Impossible to say, they don't reply to e-mails very quickly (if at all). You just have to keep watching their site and Twitter.
