    I updated and it works better under Windows 8 (5 point input works well).

    But I have still some issues. As you are more helpfull that Chalk-elec, perhaps you could do more.
    Here is what I wrote to Chalk elec :

    1) I can receive HDMI signal from my Windows 8 PC and Windows 7 notebook.
    BUT I can't receive HDMI signal from othersources like :

    a) Samsung MHL HDMI adapter
    b) Netgear PTV3000

    The screen keep balck (with backlight on) and nothing happens on screen. No artefact or else.

    You have to know that I have another 7" multi touch LCD (Lilliput 779gl-70np-c-t) and it work like a charm with all HDMI sources.

    I could make a video to show you but it won't show you more than I explained you above.

    2) I have connected the touch screen to my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device running Android 4.4.2 and on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 (through OTG cable) and the touch panel is correctly recognized as external HID.
    PROBLEM: the tapping (pressing) is not recognized as selection/confirmation...the only thing that happens, when I tap the screen, is to move the pointer (a dot) in correspondence of the coordinated of my finger..like I moved a mouse HID without left clicking but with a dot on the screen.
    It's not possible for me to scroll or to select something --> unusable under Android.

    Maybe it is a matter of drivers but I have no specific ideas. I have no specific drivers for the device.

    Hey coucouillu,

    I had an issue like this when I was trying to use a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable, with an hdmi-hdmi adapter converting to another HDMI-microHDMI cable... it was messy. I only had luck using a microHDMI-HDMI adapter and Chalk's miniHDMI to HDMI cable. It's very possible that your HDMI cable is too long for the screen to make sense of the Samsung MHL HDMI adapter and Netgear PTV3000. How long of a cable are you using?

    I also had strange things happen when I used a cheap USB cord. The screen would go all white and no signal would get to the screen. I know you're not showing these symptoms, but it's worth putting out there.

    Basically, the Chalk screens are picky about the cords, can't use dollar store cords on them.

    This is likely because either your Note 3 and Note Pro doesn't have the proper .idc file, or the kernel on either of these devices doesn't have MT_CLS_DEFAULT enabled for the Chalk-Screens in the kernel (with an entry like this in drivers/hid/hid-multitouch.c

    { .driver_data = MT_CLS_DEFAULT,
    HID_USB_DEVICE(USB_VENDOR_ID_MICROCHIP,
    USB_DEVICE_ID_MICROCHIP_TOUCH) },
    )

    and in drivers/hid/hid-ids.h :

    #define USB_VENDOR_ID_MICROCHIP 0x04d8
    #define USB_DEVICE_ID_MICROCHIP_TOUCH 0xf724

    If that's the case, you'll have to find the kernel sources from each of these products, and recompile using the same methods I mentioned for the Odroid (except for Samsung devices). I'm not a kernel expert... you may need to do some hunting to find the right sources. Also, check out the Odroid Magazine February edition for a tutorial on how to compile the kernel for added touchscreens.
    Check the .idc files first in /system/usr/idc and go from there.

    Let us know how this works out.

    I just picked up a 8" touchscreen from Chinatobby, we'll see how it goes...
    Do you guys know if there's any ways to make those screen dimmable? Like a trigger from car illumination?

    Hi Focused
    I really appreciate your help.
    About the hdmi cable it is only 1 meter long and good quality. Of source works perfectly with this cable. I think it would come from the signal.

    About the touch screen if I root my phone would I be able to make it work just putting files in the phone’s system foldersthx

    You're welcome!

    1 meter doesn't seem to be too long... Not really sure. When I was having the screen blackout issue I would keep unplugging/replugging in the cable, and once every ~20 times it would display something at the wrong resolution. These Chalk screens are supposed to be universal for scaling resolution... so hopefully they will respond to your support request.

    Ya, if you root your phone you'll be able to add the idc file. I just took one of the pre-existing files and renamed it to match the Chalk Vendor and Device IDs. You can do this through adb or with Root Explorer from the Play Store. I also have a Note 3 and rooted it almost immediately to get rid of the bloatware (as if I'd really need Flipboard as a system app...).

    Hope this helps!

    Haha! Flipboard is the bane of the note 3, consuming resources and battery life at an alarming rate!

    What I want to know is just how bright are Chalk's 10" panels? My Chinatobby 8" is just a little too dim, now that I have had it in a year I am really wanting a brighter screen badly.

    You thinking the open frame or the one i have rray?
    Mine is good but i still needed to tweak the brightness/contrast?? In windows.found a few programs to automate this for me.all in all mine could be brighter in the dead of summer mainly due to the shine the cap screen has.i initially thought i would get a matt screen protector but as i hate the feel of them ive never bothered
