When I was having the screen blackout issue I would keep unplugging/replugging in the cable, and once every ~20 times it would display something at the wrong resolution. These Chalk screens are supposed to be universal for scaling resolution... so hopefully they will respond to your support request.

Ya, if you root your phone you'll be able to add the idc file. I just took one of the pre-existing files and renamed it to match the Chalk Vendor and Device IDs. You can do this through adb or with Root Explorer from the Play Store. I also have a Note 3 and rooted it almost immediately to get rid of the bloatware (as if I'd really need Flipboard as a system app...).

    Hope this helps!
For the HDMI input, I tried like you said. in fact, when I wait a little and start play with my Note 3 screen in mirroring mode (with both MHL and PTV3000) I have artefacts on Chalk screen...white screen, white line, black screen...but no picture.
It seems that hte Chalk screen does not support this scalling resolution. I will RMA to support request as you said.

For touch screen, do you have succes in .idc file with the Chalk touch screen?

That's too bad you weren't able to get it working. The resolution should be universal... so it might be something else causing it. Are you powering the screen from the same source as the HDMI? Or are you using a power plug? Have you tried mixing and matching where the power/touch comes from?

I configured the idc file for the Odroid and had to recompile the kernel. It didn't take too long with the right instructions. If you search around someone else with those devices has probably done the same procedure.

Before I made the idc file I was having the same symptoms, where it wouldn't actually click on anything, just show a pointer.
Let us know what happens after making the idc file.

I can't say much for the 10" screen, but the 7" is allegedly 400 NIT, and is definitely visible in direct sunlight. The problem seems to be that unless you are wiping the screen after every use, the capacitive screens show finger smudges, which is a bigger factor than brightness (to me at least).

Anyone have the outer dimensions of the 10? Andrew said it'll be a couple weeks out yet, but having some idea if it'll fit would be great.

Going to try a 10 as soon as they are back in stock. Probably faster than I can get the rest of the things in order. Will be sure to post up a thread and give some feedback. While I also hate fingerprints, I NEED multitouch.

Just a quick inquiry, I tried my new 8" touchscreen from Chinatobby for a few days. I can get the VGA to work no problem (Analogue) but I can't get the HDMI to work for the life of me! If I boot up from HDMI I get the bios screen and a short peek at the win boot menu, but then the screen goes black. I'm sure it's something to do with my resolution settings because everything works fine with VGA.
I tried every settings I could think of with the HDMI, 480x800, in all refresh rates available, also tried 600x800, 1200x ..... etc etc, basically none of them works. The closest I got was in 480x800 with refresh rate of 60 or 59, I can't remember, but at that settings I got a quick white flash.... :-/
Anyone has any suggestions? the model I got is 480x800 native.

Sounds more like your video driver settings or lack of HDMI drivers, also might be a setting in your bios to output the signal. Just a thought SNO
