I spoke with a company that does projective capacitive touchscreens for a pretty good price, I need to email the rep I was speaking to about it again. They have 7" available, she said they could custom make 8" and they have 10". Price break for 100 of them, not sure if we could get 100 people on here to purchase though...

Dimensions on the 10.1 would be nice to have. I have a 10.4 now (with a shattered touch panel). I think the 10.1 would work for me but would like to know for sure before ordering.

For dimensions, they can be found here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7BW...dnakw5cU0/edit Looks like it wont take much modding of my dash to make it fit.

The dimensions were on their website the whole time.

I haven't even started the bezel for the install though. I was working or out of town solid for the last month. Now it'll be back to play time, but I have to resolve some driver issues to get my laptop to put out a video signal. I may be sunk with using Windows 8 on the older computer though, I don't think there is an updated driver set. I'm going to get on the phone with Microsoft tech support and see what we can do though. Maybe I need to fall back to 7 for now.
Computer is in the car, but in a very "raw" install right now.

I will get some pictures of the back uploaded tomorrow or at the least some time this weekend, but I can tell you that going from the front panel to the board on the display there are literally about 100 wires in the ribbon cable. I say about because in some sections they're too tighly packed to count without magnification.

    Nice! Keep us informed.

I wish I could fit a 10.1" in my car...

I had preordered the 7" screen, then a few weeks ago requested the refund when they canceled the 7" project. Since they have not refunded me yet, I was thinking of changing the refund request into the 10" open frame screen substitution, but I was hoping someone can report how bright these 10" screens look in a car in daylight.

Does anyone have their 10" deployed yet? How does it look?

    Thanks,
    Robert
