    1280 x 800 ips capacitive panels

Hello all.over at the CF forums a bloke dropped a link and some info about a company in malaysia that was about to produce some capacitive touch 7' 1280 x 800 ips panels.they have open frame and a tablet style bezel.they are 400 nit brighness and might be auto brightness (need to confirm this) like their 10.1 model.connection is hdmi and hid usb for the touch panel and its multitouch with the addition of a driver.price is under $130.ive ordered mine but there not shipping untill mid april.....cant guarantee its quality or if it will actually arrive but its worth a look.check them out here www.chalk-elec.com

I'm also interested in this but was afraid to order because it doesn't have a separate input for a backup camera. I believe they are going to come out with a special CarPC version later that will include the missing input. I will keep my eye on it because I've been searching for a while to find a high resolution capacitive screen so I can run Windows 8.

I just ordered one of these... I guess it's worth checking out... really what it amounts to is that it's half of an average android tablet, instead of a motherboard, memory, battery and gps wifi etc... they are just using a screen and a capacitive overlay and then supplying interfaces for both of these... I really wanted to chop up a nexus 7 tablet to try and build the same thing as this but I would have to try to find a compatible lvds interface and then an interface for the multi-touch capacitive panel... really I think this whole unit is costing me less than I would spend just trying to get these 2 interfaces for the lvds and multi touch controllers, and this kit of course even includes an lcd and touch panel too I'll let you know what I receive if/when I do

sorry can't see that link, just takes me to a main ebay page... I'm wondering if I can mix and match the controllers from the screen I just ordered to the nexus 7 panel. if you're looking for a really good 7" panel the nexus 7 stock lcd is ~$75 or so and it's really a great panel, only thing is getting the rest of it usable, which is why I bought that screen listed in this thread. right now my install is android based with the nexus 7 built into the dash but as an android tablet there is of course no way to get anything else to display natively on it's screen... by driving the lvds separately I'd then be able to do everything it does now, but then be able to switch to a camera input, or a windows 8 pc or whatever... android is really cool but intercepting the lvds and injecting other things to the same display will just make it that much better... and having android for every day quick things but then being able to switch to a full windows pc in a flick of a switch sounds like what I'd really like to do best of both worlds

just poking around on ebay now, has anyone seen this 1280x800 lilliput? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lilliput-7-6...item5653389158

man so many years of wishing for cool stuff like this and now it's just about upon us, and it's amazing how cheap this stuff has become too... pretty soon when the interfaces for these screens become more common we will then have what we've been only dreaming about for many years...

ah, I see that my ebay link isn't working either, must be something on ebays end the item # for the 1280x800 native lilli on ebay I was trying to show is item# 190810592301

I was going to order 2 but changed my mind when my paypal total with cables and walwart totaled $383. They charge $55 shipping each, back to ebay for me.
