Help relocating buttons on DSCustoms/*enarc screen
I am working on installing a DSCustoms DS700YYV into my dash. The opening in my dash is not tall enough to accomodate the full monitor enclosure. I can mount the screen without any problems, but the controller board has to be mounted at a slight angle.
This means that the buttons on the controller board will not be accessible. While this is not really a problem, I would like to be able to use the mode and power buttons just in case I expand the system.
Has anyone wired external buttons to this controller? Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried yet?
I would think you would just need to wire an additional switch accross the circuit where the existing switch is.
You will need a momentary SPST switch.

The only thing I would say is that those appear to already be connected.
Use a meter to test continuity, I think you'll find they are, it sure looks like it.

hi I am trying to do the same exact thing. Go to google and type in shuttle + xenarc. That will take you to a webpage of a guy who installed a xenarc screen in a shuttle xpc. He re-located his buttons. Their is alot of info their also on how to take the unit apart without turning it into a pile of junk!
let me know how the re-location is going gzjunk@msn.com
My project has taken forever some times i wish i bought the tm-701L instead of the xenarc, but i think the end result will be worth it.

Thanks. I tried it your way earlier in the evening and it worked great.
I will not desolder the existing buttons - that is way outside of my abilities.
I'll probably put a glob of hot glue on the button to prevent it from being pushed accidentally and solder wires leading to a new button on the back side of the board.
