669 - HDMI and the desktop is bigger than the actual monitor

OK so I have it all set up...I had a calibration issue first but that is fixed. NOW when I put it in DVI mode it is fine but if i put in HDMI mode the desktop is bigger than the display so the task bar start button and such is off my screen. I know this is something stupid. Any help though?

If it's an ATI/AMD video card, I would try:

Catalyst Control Center -- My Digital Flat Panels -- Scaling Options

So I figured it out with a reply from Liliput...Press and hold the menu button while it is in HDMI and it scales to the correct size.
