    TM-701L size

I recently bought a TM701l. On digitalww.com it says it fits in a single DIN space.
I measured the unit and it is a little larger than 7" wide, about 7 1/8".
I thought a single DIN was 7" wide. Any one else have troubles fitting this LCD in?

I'm working on this right now. I am expecting my mouting kit sometime today. Did you say the kit was 7 and 1/8" Did you measure the opening in your vehicle yet?

If the kit is 1/8" too large, I would think this just makes it a solid fit. Thats just 1/16" on each side, if it doesn't fit, force it! (gently)

I have a double din setup with my head unit on the bottom and the TM-701L on top and it fit just fine. Its a bit of a snug fit but it fits.
EPIA 800, DWW-7VGA LCD w/Touchscreen, 256mb ram, dvd rom, ati radeon 7000 video card, 80 gb 3.5" hard drive.

I am having trouble fitting the TM701L in my Subaru Sti -2003, the car has a double din head unit that I want to replace with the monitor and another headunit. The 701-monitor is to wide when I flip it out, Arrrrgggg.

I think I will have to strip it down and mount the bare screen in the double din space instead!

I've found the same thing. My 701 is just a shade too wide, which means that the plastic fascia deforms a little when 'encouraged' into the DIN slot. I suspect that the manufacturers have a limited understanding of the meaning of 'DIN'.

It's annoying, but it's nothing that some judicious sanding of the edge of the fascia (or a Gain screen) wouldn't fix.

I was surprised to when i saw it was not a single din.

I got a 2k1 Nissan Maxima. It is definitely wide. I can get mine to fit in the hole for the slot (requires a little bending of the manufacturers braces). But the problem lies in my aftermarket face plate.

I had to take off the plastic piece that kinda stops the screen from rolling of the tracks on the screen itself. I then recessed the screen into the hole and had to cut the sides a little of the single din slots on my face plate so that screen can actually roll through the single din hole. Its a gets a little tight at the top when the arm comes out but ill keep working on it.

Its kinda pushing my head unit, below it, down a little and the screen almosts hits it when swinging out but it works! Its not that clean on the sides since i had to cut it but its in so i cant complain.
